Industrial Visit to IIRS Dehradun and SCL Chandigarh, 2025

From 6th January to 15th January 2025, the IETE-SAKEC, in association with the Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering DepartmentShah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College successfully organized an enriching Industrial Visit to IIRS Dehradun and SCL Chandigarh, attended by 45 enthusiastic students across various academic years.

✨ Highlights of the Visit:

1. Industrial Insights:

   – Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL), Chandigarh: A fascinating exploration of cutting-edge semiconductor technologies.
– Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), Dehradun: Eye-opening sessions on space and remote sensing technologies.

2. Scenic and Historical Destinations:

– Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar: A visit to this historic site, evoking deep respect and remembrance.

– Wagah Border, Amritsar: Witnessed the patriotic flag-lowering ceremony, a moment of national pride.

– Rock Garden & Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh: Explored the artistic creations at Rock Garden and enjoyed the serene beauty of Sukhna Lake.

– Golden Temple, Amritsar: A spiritual retreat offering peace and tranquility.

– Har Ki Pauri, Haridwar: A divine experience of the Ganga Aarti.

– Hidimba Temple, Manali: A peaceful retreat amidst the cedar forests, showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage.

– Monastery, Manali: Experienced spiritual serenity and Tibetan culture in the beautiful monastery.

3. Recreational Activities:

   – DJ Night and Bonfires: Fun-filled evenings with music and camaraderie under the starry skies.

This successful event was made possible by the dedicated efforts of:

Winter Internship Program 2024 & Advanced Internship Program

The SAKEC-IETE Centre of Excellence (COE), in collaboration with the Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department, successfully concluded two transformative initiatives: the Winter Internship Program 2024 and the Advanced Internship Program.
💻 Program Highlights:
– Winter Internship Program 2024:
   – Duration: 16th December 2024 – 4th January 2025
   – Participation: 30 students from various streams.
   – Key Features:
     – Hands-on training on *Ansys HFSS 3D Electromagnetic Simulation Software* and *Vector Network Analyzer (VNA)*.
     – Capstone projects solving real-world electromagnetic and telecommunication challenges.
– Advanced Internship Program:
   – Duration: 16th December 2024 – 4th January 2025
   – Participation: 08 students from various Institute.
   – Key Features:
     – Advanced training with industry-standard tools.
     – Focus on skill development in high-demand engineering fields.

✨ Both programs were hosted at Lab 303, SAKEC IETE-COE, providing access to state-of-the-art facilities and expert instructors.

TechFusion – Telecom, Cyber Security & AI Insights on Social Media, 2024

Event Highlight: TechFusion – Telecom, Cyber Security & AI Insights
The Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department at SAKEC, in collaboration with IETE-SAKEC, successfully hosted the TechFusion event on September 6, 2024, at our Center of Excellence Labs!
 Event Highlights:
– Participants: 120 First-year Diploma students and 7 faculty members from St. Xavier’s College.
– Engaging Sessions: A technical talk on the evolution of telecom and 5G by Prof. Khushboo Singh.
– Interactive Lab Visits: Participants explored the latest technologies in our Telecom, Cyber Security, and AI labs, gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge equipment and projects.

PARIKSHAK – CODE-A-THON Series

Objective

We at SAKEC use the PARIKSHAK tool developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, India (C-DAC) to conduct offline and online programming competitions referred as CODE-A-THON. PARIKSHAK tool empowers faculties to create questions, and tests, and to generate results. This tool has a user-friendly interface for faculties and students. PARIKSHAK is the ultimate solution for modern programming assessment needs.

Need for Programming Knowledge

Knowledge of programming is increasingly becoming essential in today’s world due to several reasons:

  1. Automation: Programming allows the automation of repetitive tasks, saving time and effort. This is particularly valuable in manufacturing, finance, and data analysis industries.
  2. Problem Solving: Programming teaches problem-solving skills by breaking down complex tasks into smaller, manageable parts. This skill is valuable not only in technical fields but also in various other domains.
  3. Versatility: Programming languages are used in diverse fields such as web development, mobile app development, data science, artificial intelligence, robotics, and more. Having programming knowledge opens up a wide range of career opportunities.
