IETE Approved 6-Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “AI Evolution: From Foundations to Generative AI”, in collaboration with IETE-SAKEC and IETE Centre of Excellence under the TechSaksham initiative. This program is proudly supported by TechSaksham (TSP), a joint CSR initiative of Microsoft and SAP, in collaboration with AICTE – ATAL and implemented by Edunet Foundation.
The Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) under TechSaksham are dedicated to enhancing technical capacity within institutes and fostering large-scale skill development among faculty members.
Day 1: January 1, 2024
- Welcome Note and LMS Introduction
- Dr. T. P. Vinutha, HoD, Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, welcomed participants.
- Mr. Ramar introduced the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Introduction to AI
- Mr. Ramar Bose and Mr. Mayank Shrivastava provided insights on Artificial Intelligence and its significance in the contemporary world.
Day 2: January 2, 2024
- Deep Dive into ML with Hands-On Algorithms
- Mr. Mayank explained exploration of Machine Learning techniques and practical applicatios of ML algorithms.
Day 3: January 3, 2024
- Highly Progressive Deep Learning Model with Hands-On by Mr. Ramar Bose
- Advanced deep learning models and hands-on implementation.
- This session provided an in-depth exploration of advanced deep learning models. Participants engaged in hands-on experience, implementing progressive deep learning techniques, enhancing their practical skills. The session covered cutting-edge concepts, pushing the boundaries of deep learning applications. Overall, attendees gained valuable insights into progressive models, fostering a deeper understanding of their applications and contributing to the advancement of their expertise in the field.
Day 4: January 4, 2024
- Session Details:
1st Half (10 am – 12 pm): Implementation on ANN, CNN, RNN by Ramar Bose
- Mr. Ramar Bose introduced the fundamental concepts of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN).
- Explanation of the role of each type of neural network in machine learning applications.
2nd Half (1 pm – 3 pm): LSTM & Hands-on, Discussion of NLP Techniques by Mayank Shrivastava.
Mr. Mayank covered Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks, providing insights into their architecture and applications. Participants engaged in a hands-on experience, implementing LSTM networks, and delved into the practical aspects of sequential data processing. Additionally, the session included a discussion on Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, offering participants a comprehensive overview of NLP applications and methodologies. The practical and theoretical aspects of the session equipped participants with valuable skills in LSTM and NLP for diverse applications.
Day 5: January 5, 2024
1st Half (10 am – 12 pm): NLP Model and Theoretical Discussion on LLM, Practical by Ramar Bose
- Theoretical deep dive into Large Language Models.
- Understanding the architecture, training process, and applications.
- Practical Implementation:
- Hands-on session conducted by Ramar.
- Participants engaged in implementing an NLP model.
- Practical exercises included text preprocessing, model training, and evaluation.
2nd Half (1 pm – 3 pm): Generative AI by Mr. MayankShrivastava
- Hands-on session led by Mr. Mayank Bose
- Participants were guided through the implementation of Generative AI models.
- Real-world examples and case studies were explored.
Day 6: January 6, 2024
1st Half (10 am – 12 pm): Explore Generative AI & NLP in Healthcare,
Expert International Speaker: Dr. Sanjan T.P. Gupta,
Machine Learning Scientist at Biosciences Cluster, Corporate Research Labs, USA.
- In-depth exploration of Generative AI and NLP applications in healthcare.
- Examination of successful case studies and real-world implementations.
- Hands-On Session (11 am – 12 pm):
- Dr. Sanjan T.P. Gupta conducted a practical, hands-on workshop.
- Participants engaged in the implementation of Generative AI and NLP techniques in healthcare scenarios.
2nd Half (1 pm – 3 pm): Dive into Multimodal Generative AI: Seeing, Hearing, Reading,
Expert International Speaker: Mr. Prateek Verma, Stanford University, USA
- In-depth exploration of how Generative AI can be extended to handle multiple modalities such as images, text, and sound simultaneously.
- Discussion on the challenges and opportunities in developing multimodal AI models.

This FDP provided an extensive exploration of AI, from foundational concepts to advanced models, with hands-on sessions and expert talks. The collaboration with TechSaksham, Microsoft, SAP, and the involvement of international speakers added significant value to the program, contributing to the participants’ knowledge and skill development in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Total 144 participants from various colleges of India participated in the faculty development program.
