YOGA FOR HEALTHY LIVING

Information Technology Department in collaboration with SAKEC ACM Student Chapter’s ACM-W had orgranised a webinar on “Yoga for Healthy Living” on 14th June, 2020 to educate the students of SAKEC about some key practices of yoga to help them take care of their mental health and attain mental peace. The speaker for the event was Ms. Pratishruta Adhikari, Yoga therapist and Wellness coach.

Hands-on Workshop on Python & Django Web Frameworks

SAKEC-ACM Student Chapter in collaboration with Information Technology Department &SAKEC IIC2.0 of Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College had organised a 2 days hands-on workshop on 13th & 14th March, 2020 on “Python & Django Web Frameworks” to sharpen the skills and introduce newconcepts to the students of SAKEC. The speakers of the event were Mr. Preet Nagda & Mr. Yash Thosani, students of SAKEC.

A Talk on ETHICAL HACKING AND CYBER SECURITY

SAKEC ACM Student Chapter in collaboration with Information Technology, organized “Talk on Ethical Hacking And Cybersecurity” at 7thFloor Auditorium on 5th February 2020 from 1pm to 5pm.The motive of this event was to give the students a basic idea about hacking and also to learn how real-life hackers are and how they think.The Speaker of the event was Mr. Rohit Gautam who is founder of Hacktify Cyber Security company as well as he is an Ethical Hacker and Presenter by profession and has works with many top Indian banks and private firms. He created an interesting presentation and covered major topics like Android Hacking, Email Hacking, Cyber Forensics, Phishing and Ransomware.

How to do end to end innovation

Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering Department in collaboration with SAKEC ACM Student Chapter had organized the event “How to do End to End Innovation”. The event focuses on cervix cancer, the ways taken to prevent it and also the technology used and which can be used for a brighter tomorrow. The speaker for the event was Mr. Zubin Savla, a SAKEC graduate who now works at Tata Center for Technology and Design.

Maranatha Harvest Mission Orphanage Society

SAKEC-ACM student Chapter in association with Information Technology Department had organized social event to help the children of Maranatha Harvest Mission Orphanage who are underprivileged children at Maranatha harvest mission orphanage society , Chembur. It is first social event held under SAKEC ACM-W Student Chapter guided by Ms. Swati Nadkarni, Ms. Smita Bansod, Ms. Bhakti Sonawane, Ms. Archana Chaugule, Ms. Shwetambri Pawar, Mr. Santosh Rathod and Mr. Manish Bhelande.

SEMICODE

Information Technology Department & SAKEC ACM Student Chapter in collaboration with other 4 ACM Chapters had organized a coding competition “SEMICODE” at SAKEC. The event took place in Lab 507,508,509, 611, 612 and 613. The event was sponsored by MasterCyberity. The competition round was hosted on Hackerrank.com which provides services as well as generate results.

Be The Hero! With U&I Organization SEMICODE

SAKEC-ACM student Chapter in association with Information Technology Department had organized social event to help the underprivileged children. This event was held under SAKEC ACM-W Student Chapter guided by Ms. Swati Nadkarni, Ms. Smita Bansod, Ms. Nida Jawre. SAKEC-ACM student Chapter had an immense pleasure to contribute their time and work towards this social cause.

Hands on GitHub

SAKEC ACM Student Chapter in collaboration with Information Technology Department, organized “Hands on GitHub” workshop. The event was conducted on 27th March, 2019. It covered topics like Basics of Git and GitHub and its applications. The event took place at SAKEC 507, 508 and 509 lab. The event was attended by 21 students of SAKEC.

SAKEC CONNECT

SAKEC-ACM in collaboration with Computer Engineering Department has organized “SAKEC-CONNECT” on 29th and 30th March 2019. It was technical competition for undergraduates from any field where they must participate as individuals. Based on the skill sets of individuals, a team of 4 has been formed. A lot of enthusiastic participants showcasing their talents in this event.

Photoshop

SAKEC-ACM Student Chapter in collaboration with Information Technology had organized the event “Photoshop” on 2nd April, 2019. The event was basically conducted for ACM student members, by ACM member and BE student Mr. Abhishek Shah. It was very helpful for ACM members to learn and use Photoshop skills

Python Programming: Learn It Well

SAKEC ACM Student Chapter in collaboration with Information Technology Department organized “Python Programming: Learn It Well” workshop at SAKEC. The event took place in Lab 507,508 and 509. The event was conducted over a period of 03 days from 4th July, 2018 to 6th July, 2018 and covered various topics from Basics of Python 3 to advance like adding web page using Django Framework. The event was attended by 45 participants, including students of SAKEC and other colleges,along with industry professionals.

Helping Hands to Orphanage

SAKEC-ACM Student Chapter in association with Information Technology, Shah And Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College had organized social event Helping hands to orphanage who are underprivileged, under-nutrition and also HIV positive children at Desire Society, Vashi. Though it is first social event held under SAKEC ACM Student Chapter guided by Ms. Swati Nadkarni, Ms. Smita Bansod, Dr. Nilakshi Jain, Mr. Vaibhav Vasani, Mr. DhwaniketKamble and Mr. Santosh Rathod. Chapter team collected contribution from the student members and staff members.

Triumph

On the completion of 1st year of formation SAKEC ACM Student Chapter organized SAKEC ACM TRIUMPH. The celebration was conducted on 11th April, 2018 at 7th floor auditorium. The event was inaugurated in the gracious presence and motivational guidance of dignitaries:Chief Guest, Dr. Amiya Tripathi, and Guest of Honour, Ms. Nilakshi Joshi, Faculty Sponsor DBIT. Principal, Dr. Bhavesh Patel, Vice-Principal, Dr. V. C. Kotak, Faculty Sponsor, Ms. Swati Nadkarni. The celebration was attended by all the SAKEC ACM Student Chapter members.Certificates of Appreciation were given to official position of SAKEC ACM Student Chapter and B.E. ACM members. The event was celebrated with technical and cultural activities.

Inter-Departmental Innovative Project Hunt

The “Inter-Departmental Innovative Project Hunt” was organized by Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department in collaboration with ACM-SAKEC on 7th April 2018, Saturday in 7th floor Auditorium & 4th Floor Seminar Hall.
Dr. Bhavesh Patel, Principal SAKEC, Dr. Uma Rao, HOD Electronics Department, Prof. Swati Nadkarni, HOD IT Department & ACM Faculty sponsor , Prof. T.P.Vinutha HOD EXTC Department and Prof. Uday Bhave, HOD Computer Department graced the occasion.
Each department had short-listed three Project groups of final year students for this event. Winner was declared for each department. Projects of Computers Engg & IT department were judged by Ms. Pallavi Choudhary, Dy. Head – Quality, L&T Infotech in the morning session and the projects of Elex & Extc department were Dr. Ramesh Karandikar, Professor, K J Somaiya College of Engineering. They have given their valuable inputs to all the Participants.
The event was coordinated by Mr. Rohan Borgalli, Assistant Professor, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department.

ETHICAL HACKING

SAKEC ACM Student Chapter in collaboration with PRISTINE InfoSolutions, organized “Ethical Hacking” workshop. The event was conducted over a period of 02 days from 15th February, 2018 to 16th February, 2018 and covered topics from Basics of Ethical Hacking and its concepts in detail. The event took place at SAKEC in 4th Floor Seminar Hall. The event was attended 128 participants, including students of SAKEC and other colleges, along with some industry professionals.The speaker for this event was Mr. Rizwan Shaikh, CTO and founder of Pristine Infosolutions and also one of the top 10 ethical hackers in India.

IoT:IOmaTic

SAKEC ACM Student Chapter in collaboration with Electronic Engineering Department organized “IoT:IOmaTic” workshop at SAKEC. The event took place in Lab $th Floor Seminar hall. The event was conducted over a period of 03 days from 8th February, 2018 to 10th February, 2018 and covered various topics from introduction to Embedded System to advance like Web Designing and Development. The event was attended by 37 participants, including students of SAKEC.

Trek to “Lohagad Fort”

On 3rd February 2018, SAKEC ACM Student Chapter organized its First Trek of the year 2017-18 to the Lohagad Fort which is 3,389 feet high. It is situated close to the hill station Lonavala and is 98.6 Km away from Mumbai. This adventure activity was attended by 18 members including students and Faculty members. The trek was an opportunity to bring all the ACM-Members together so as to form a strong bonding between them.

Institutional Training Program (ITP) By PCRA

SAKEC ACM Student Chapter in collaboration with Petroleum Conservation Research Association organized Institutional Training Program for Educational Institutes for SAKEC Staff as well as Students on 24th January 2018. The event was conducted on the 4th Floor Auditorium. PCRA ITP Program for energy conservation and enhancing the energy sustainability.The students (107) and faculty members attended the event in huge numbers were briefed about the importance of energy conservation in daily activities as well as how to save the energy and using cost efficient devices.

PC ASSEMBLY AND CONFIGURATION

The event was organized by SAKEC ACM Student Chapter in Collaboration with Information Technology Departmentat Lab 609, Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College. It was an inter-college event for students. The event was conducted on Saturday, 20thJanuary, 2018.This News of the event was published in International ACM chapter newsletter.

ACM Student Chapter in association with Electronics and Telecommunication department organised a meetup on “How to fall in love with Maths and Stats”on 23rd September 2017. The event was coordinated by Prof Ashish B Tank, EXTC department with ACM team. The speaker of the event Mr. Bhavik Gandhi who is Associate Vice President of Pepperfry, Mumbai Area. He focused how to solve data science queries with the help of Maths and Stats and how to handle big data applying maths.

Android App Development

ACM SAKEC in association with COMPUTER ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT and GFXBandits has organized hands on workshop on “Android App Development” on 22 nd and 23 rd September 2017, which was conducted by Mr. Shripal Jain, Android Developer of GFXBandits and Mr. Hemant Shah, Founder of GFXBandits and co-ordinated by Prof. Bhakti Sonawane and Prof. Karuna Borhade of Computer Engineering Department, SAKEC. The event was attended by 59 participants, including students of SAKEC and other colleges, along with some industry professionals.
The workshop was intended to familiarize participants with Android Studio software. Participants were trained to make applications using UI control and toasts, which can be launched in Google Play Store and are supported by various devices such as TVs, smart phones, tablets, camera, video game player, smart watches, car systems etc. They also learnt to post advertises in their app using JSON, thus making app as a source of revenue. The session was interactive and was concluded with the valedictory function which was graced by Principal Dr. Bhavesh Patel, Computer Engineering Department HOD Prof. Uday Bhave, IT Department HOD Prof. Swati Nadkarni and CEO of GFXBandits Mr. Ronak Parikh.

CYBERH4CK: The Road to Digital Defence

SAKEC ACM Student Chapter organized an event “CYBERH4CK: The Road to Digital Defence” from 12th September 2017 to 16th September 2017.The main aim of the event was to Ethiattack –>Detect –> Defence. 5 days journey to learn the Ethical concept of Hacking and investigating the cybercrime has been ended with very positive note. On 16th September 2017 the valedictory function was graced by the Managing Trustee of Mahavir Education Trust Shri. Navin Bhai Shah,,Principal Dr. Bhavesh Patel, Vice-Principal Dr. V. C. Inauguration of the ACM Chapter

Department of Information Technology had organized a formal inauguration ceremony for introducing a new Chapter in the institution named ACM (Association for Computing Machinery). This event dated 11th April 2017 took place under the guidance of Ms. Swati Nadkarni, Ms. Smita Bansod and Mr.Vaibhav Vasani. Respected dignitaries Dr. Bhavesh Patel, Dr. V. C. Kotak, Dr. Amiya Tripathy, Ms.S.S. Hegde, Mr.Mayuresh Shilotri , Ms.T.P.Vinuthawere present on this auspicious occasion and gave their blessings to the new chapter.

Intra-Collegiate Word Play – Feb 2022

SAKEC – Speakers’ Club organized an Intra -Collegiate Wordplay event on 9th February 2022. Intra- Collegiate Wordplay is an event where participants had to compete in various rounds related to English Vocabulary. The qualifying round was conducted in 4th Floor Auditorium. The top 4 finalists were selected.
The finale was inaugrated by Dr. Bhavesh Patel & Dr. Vinit Kotak through Saraswati Vandana. The finale round was conducted on 7th floor Auditorium where the 4 finalists competed in multiple rounds.The winner of the event was Arya Thanekar and the runner up was Mohommad Areeb. Participants expressed their views with great clarity and enthusiasm. It was a knowledgeable and enriching experience.

Intra-Collegiate Word Play – April 2021

SAKEC Speakers’ Club organized their first ever online event-Intra-Collegiate Wordplay on 3td April,2021 at 3.00pm on Microsoft Teams.The event focused on honing students’ vocabulary, sentence formation skills and overall knowledge of the English language in a fun and exciting manner. The event consisted of 5 rounds and time allotted was 30 minutes for 25 questions. Participants who successfully scored 60% or more in the quiz were awarded with certificates.

Founder’s Day Event – February 2020

Sakec Speakers’ Club organized an Inter departmental Word Play games on the occasion of their 3rd Anniversary on 4th February 2020. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Sanjay Patil sir and Prof. Manral Singh sir. It was an inter departmental competition. Students from all departments participated in it. The preliminary round was held on 3rd floor. Top 2 students from each department were merged together as a team for the finale which was conducted on the 7th floor Auditorium. The department of Electronics and Telecommunication was declared as the winner. Winner and 1st Runner up were given trophies and certificate. Then the co-founders of speakers’ club were felicitated by Sharmila ma’am.

“Inter- Collegiate General Knowledge Quiz Competition” October 2019

SAKEC Speakers’Club organized an Inter- Collegiate General Knowledge Quiz.The preliminary round of this event was held at the 3rd floor auditorium and the Finale rounds were conducted in the 7th floor auditorium on 9th October,2019. The idea behind this quiz was to bring together students from various Under Graduate colleges across Mumbai and push them to the limit of their General Knowledge with innovative different rounds. The essence of these rounds is to add a twist and act as a game changer that spikes up the interest of the event and keeps the participants with their thinking hats on all the time.SAKEC Speakers’ Club – General knowledge quiz- 2019, Make Your Gray Matter was an exciting affair. Nine teams of three participants each from colleges all over Mumbai participated in the event.The preliminary knock out round of the quiz was a multiple choice pen and paper test. Only four teams out of the nine were selected for the next round.The next phase of the Quiz saw the final 4 teams battle it out in the grand finale. This phase consisted of 5 rounds viz Quiz Fiesta, Smart Select, Rapid Fire, Gambling Round and the Buzzer Round. After the final round the top 3 scoring teams were declared winner, 1st runner up and 2nd runner up respectively.The winning teams were awarded with medals, trophies, cash prizes and certificates and the remaining teams were felicitated with participation certificates.

“ELOCUTION COMPETITION” October 2019

The Speakers’Club of Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College in Collaboration with the Vigilance Cell of Rashtriya Chemical and Fertilizer Ltd. (RCF) had organised an intra- collegiate Elocution Competition on 4th October, 2019. The event was held at the 2nd floor auditorium and was part of the Vigilance Awareness Week program of RCF. The goal of the event was to help spread awareness regarding moral societal values and ethics. The event saw large number of participants to share their views, ideas and thoughts on the topic “Integrity a Way of Life”.. The event was judged by faculty members of the college and officials from RCF. Each participant was allotted 5 minutes time to share his /her views. At the end of the event ,all the participants were given a token gift by RCF officials. It was an informative event which not only helped students inculcate a sense of morality and ethics, but also helped them overcome their fear of public speaking.

“TECHNICAL DEBATE” August 2019

SAKEC Speakers’Club organised an Inter- Collegiate Technical Debate. On 31st August ,2019.This event aimed at providing students from various Technical backgrounds (such as B.Sc IT, B.Sc CS, BE, ME, Polytechnic, etc) to prove their technical expertise as well as provide students a platform to socialize and overcome their fear of public speaking. This event was held in the 7th floor auditorium of Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College. A total of 11 teams from various Technical colleges participated in the event and two out of the 11 teams were crowned as winners and runner ups. The event consisted of multiple rounds and each round consisted of two teams and the chits decided which team would speak on what topic and whether the team will speak in favour or against the topic. After every round the losing team with the lower score would be eliminated and the winning team would proceed to the next round. The winners and runner ups were felicitated with cash prizes, trophies and certificates and the remaining teams were given participation certificates.

“Inter Collegiate Quiz Competition” October 2018

Sakec Speakers’ Club Conducted an inter-collegiate general knowledge quiz competition on 6th October,2018in the 7th floor auditorium. The event was a grand success with almost 20 teams taking part.Dr.Radhakrishna Pillai was the chief guest of the event. VESIT were the winners of the event.

“Floor Crossing” August 2018

Speakers’ Club of Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College organized a Floor Crossing event on 29th August 2018. Floor crossing is an event where a person first supports a given topic and then midway has to change side and oppose it. The event was judged by Prof. Jagat Singh Manral.The participants selected their topics by picking up a chit randomly.They spoke two minutes in favour of the topic and then two minutes against the topic. The winner of the event was ADIT SHAH and the runner up was AADITYA AUROBINDO.Participants expressed their views with great clarity and enthusiasm. It was a knowledgeable and enriching experience.

“Technical Debate” February 2018

CSI-SAKEC in Collaboration with The Speakers’ Club of SAKEC and Computer Engineering Department of Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, organized an Inter-Collegiate Technical Debate, on 3rd Feb 2018, a Pre-Event of CSI_Mumbai , TechNext India 2018. This debate was a Grand Success, with participants from numerous Engineering Colleges and streams. Participants participated in teams of 2. The topics for this debate were technology based. At the SAKEC Technical Debate, SAKEC team emerged as winners, while the Runner Ups were from D.J. Sanghvi College of Engineering.

“SAKEC QUIZ-BATTLE OF BRAINS”September 2017

Speakers’ club of Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College has organised an inter-collegiate quiz competition called SAKEC Quiz-the battle of brains sponsored by Union Bank of India.This competition contained 2 rounds – The Knockout Round(19thAugust ) and the Grand finale(21st September). Winners of the Grand Finale were given cash prize.

“QUIZZARD-BATTLE OF BRAINS”

Speakers’ club of Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering Collegehas organised an intra-collegiate quiz competition called Quizzard-the battle of brains.This competition contained 2 rounds – Preliminary round and the finale.
A MCQ based quiz was conducted in the preliminary round, from which top 3 participants of every department (Computer, Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunication and Electronics) were selected for the final round. These 3 participants formed a team and represented their respective departments in the final round.

“Speakers’Club Inauguration” March 2017

Speakers’ Club of Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College was inaugurated on 4th February 2017. This Club conducted it’s first event on 4th March 2017. An intra Collegiate quiz competition where three students from each department competed for the most coveted rolling trophy. The Department of Electronics and Telecommunication emerged victorious by clinching the King of Quiz title and also the Queen of Quiz title. Besides these titles they were also the winners of the competition.

Felicitation Ceremony and Certificate Distribution-April 2023

To felicitate the Sakec Sambodhi Prize Winners, a ceremony was conducted on April 12,2023 at 12:00pm on the 4th floor Auditotium. Our Principal, Dr.Bhavesh Patel was the guest of honour. Prize winners of A.Y 2022-23 contests were presented with certificates and a small token of appreciation. Later, the student members of SAKEC Sambodhi read out their work on stage.

Mother Language Day February 2023

To celebrate Mother Language Day on 21st February, students were encouraged to contribute short articles in their mother language. many articles about India’s linguistic heritage were received in Tulu, Kutchhi, Marwadi, Gujarati, Marathi and Hindi. All participants were awarded participation certificates.
