An Insight to Patent Drafting and Environmental Management – Dec 2020

This session was conducted on 7th December 2020 at 5pm in Microsoft teams virtual platform by Prof. Asha Durafe and Prof. Manisha Mane, faculties from Electronics Engineering
Department. Prof. Asha Durafe briefed the students of final year Electronics engineering about IPR and Patenting subject which is the Institute level elective for semester VIII. Prof. Manisha Mane discussed the syllabus contents of Environmental Management which is another Institute level elective for semester VIII.
This session helped the students to understand the contents of both the subjects so as to opt the electives in proper direction.

Faculty development program on Workshop on Cadence EDA Tool – Jan 2021

The department organized an online Faculty development program on “Workshop on Cadence EDA Tool” for staff. This two-day workshop was organized in association with Entuple technologies Pvt Ltd.. Mr. L V Kedarnath, Field Application Engineer was the key note speaker and conducted the hands-on for Cadence EDA Tool for Semi-custom and Full-custom design flow. This workshop was co-ordinated by Prof. Nibha Desai and Prof. Aparajita Bera and was conducted on 29th January 2021 & 30th January 2021.

The workshop was successfully conducted under the guidance of our principal Dr. Bhavesh Patel and HOD,Dr. Subha Subramaniam (Convener). The workshop was conducted completely online and free of cost. This workshop is a huge success for the SAKEC family. The workshop started with the inaugural talk and welcome of the speaker by HOD, Dr. Subha Subramaniam, Dean of Academics, Prof. Prashant Khedkar addressed the participants and threw the light on the importance of workshop pertaining to the need of Industry.In this workshop Mr. L V Kedarnath introduced the Basic flow of Semi-custom and Full-custom design. He has demonstrated Modelling and Simulation of NAND Gate.

Further he has demonstrated the Layout of NAND Gate as Physical Design Implementation.This Cadence Hand-on on EDA Tool was an amazing experience of technology and innovation for the faculty members for Academics and Research Area.

This workshop was concluded by an interactive QnA Session and Fruitful discussion on the upcoming research possibilities in the domain of VLSI Design. Prof. Babychen K Mathew shared his views on the workshop.Prof. Nibha Desai proposed the Vote of Thanks and concluded the workshop.

Workshop on How To Deal With Social Pressure – Feb 2021

Our Counselor, Ms. Hitakshi Vyas Joshi, who is trained in REBT therapy from Albert Ellis Institute, conducted a workshop with our Second Year Students on 16th February 2021. Adolescence is an age when an individual is influenced highest by their peers. This can have a positive as well as a negative impact on them. This workshop was designed to help the students identify their Social pressures, their impact, dealing with positive/negative pressure, and its types.

Parent Teacher Meeting – March 2021

Parent Teacher Meeting for the academic year 2020-21 was conducted on 27th March 2021 at 11:00 am, on virtual platform. The HOD addressed the parents, after which the various professional body heads introduced the parents to the events happening in the department, internships, placements and other co-curricular activities. The subject and class toppers of S.E,T.E and B.E were felicitated.

Internship on IoT Hardware, Software and Applications – June 2021

Our Department of Electronics and Computer Science, organized two week ONLINE Internship on “IoT Hardware, Software and Applications” from 21st June 2021 to 2nd July 2021 for total 545 students from different colleges in this pandemic covid-19 lockdown situation. This two-week Internship was convened by the HOD, Dr. Subha Subramaniam and coordinated by Prof. Santosh Kamble and Prof. Madhura Pednekar. The internship was conducted completely ONLINE and free of cost. This Internship was a huge success for the SAKEC family as total 37 colleges has participated in this.

Counselling Session For Third Year and Final Year students – July 2021

Our Counselor/Psychologist Ms. Hitakshi Vyas Joshi conducted workshops on Professional Skills with our TE and BE students, on 27th July and 29th July 2021 respectively. To train our students on how to crack the interview and what kind of skills are required while giving an interview. Also the counselor explained how to deal with anxiety during interview or placement time, which motivated them to perform better in their personal interview.

Parent Teacher Meeting – Sep 2021

Parent Teacher Meeting for the academic year 2021-22 was conducted on 18 September 2021 at 11am on virtual platform (Microsoft Teams). The Head of Department Dr. Subha Subramaniam addressed the parents with warm welcome note and read departmental progress report.
Prof. P.G. Khedkar,Dean Academics threw light on NAAC visit and ISO activities. Prof. Vidya Gogate discussed updation in resume and explained about the attention given to students by the teachers in online practicals. Prof. B. Mathew gave the idea about the department newsletter “Microtronix” which has all departmental and students activities. All Professionals body heads introduced the parents to the events conducted by the department,Internships, Placement and other co-curricular activities.
The subject and class toppers of SE,TE and BE were felicitated.

Philo Physics Mobile Application Launch, 8th February 2021

Students and Faculty from the General Science and Humanities Department of Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College launched a mobile application named ‘Philo Physics’ on 8th February 2021 at the Google play store. This application was designed to help students to learn Engineering Physics effortlessly. Considering the after-effects of the covid-19 pandemic, this application provides FREE OF COST study material at the fingertips of students.
This application has following features:

• Formula Lists
• Derivations in the form of concept maps
• Solved and unsolved numericals
• Last Minute Revision LMRs
• Quizzes

The above application was developed by Ms. Shraddha Pawar, Ms. Miloni Gada, Mr. Aagam Sheth and Mr. Shubham Shah under the guidance of Dr. Namrataa Kkommineni.

ENERGY EFFICIENT ELECTRIC CAR

A Team of First Year Engineering students from shah and anchor kutchhi engineering college, chembur, Mumbai made an electric car to learn something out of their understanding, curriculum and gain a fair amount of engineering knowledge out of it, at a metal fabrication workshop in Mulund, Mumbai and was presented as the show stopper for the annual technical fest of shah and anchor kutchhi engineering college, chembur, Mumbai on 1st April 2016. The car was named “Energy Efficient Electric Car” which was powered by sealed lead acid chemistry batteries and had a range of 50 to 80 Km at one charge, with a top speed of 81.67Km/h.

PHYSICS PROJECT EXHIBITION: October 2017

First Year students demonstrated several working Physics Projects and models at the Physics Exhibition that was conducted by the Physics Department under the Engineering Science Department at Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, Chembur, Mumbai on 16th October 2017.
At this event Mr. Anuj Shah of FE-IV received first prize for his project titled “Crystal Structure studies using Augmented Reality” by external Judge Dr. Alexander from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC).

Student Induction Program-2019

On Day 1 of the Student Induction Program 2019-20 , Principal Dr. Bhavesh Patel addressed all the students of First Year Engineering, at the 7th Floor Auditorium. He provided very useful insight about the college and it’s rules and regulations, to the students. This was followed by Diagnostic Tests conducted in the computer laboratories, where students were tested for their Mathematics, English and Computer Fundamentals. Post lunch, a Motivational Talk by Dr. Narayan Iyer from Indian Development Foundation was arranged for the students, which they enjoyed immensely.

On Day 2 of the Student Induction Program 2019-20 , Orientation Session by the Heads of The Departments was held, where the respective HODs talked to students in detail about the departmental
infrastructure and activities. This was followed by interactive Meeting with Mentors and visit to the library. Students also visited the Gymkhana to experience the various state of the art facilities provided in the gymnasium.Post lunch, a session on IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) was conducted by Dr.Vinit Kotak( Branch counselor of IEEE SAKEC and Vice Chair, IEEE Bombay Section), during which he shared the significance of IEEE and it’s activities with the students.
A session about CSI (Computer Society of India) , another professional body for the students, was
conducted by Prof. Rekha Ramesh.

On Day 3 of the Student Induction Program 2019-20 , a session on Yoga-Prana Vidya was arranged for the students on the 7th Floor auditorium. It was conducted by Ms. Saloni Shah , a practicing healer and Yoga Prana Vidya expert. The session was very interesting and lively and students learnt a lot about de-stressing and healing methods. Prof. Shashikant Radke and Prof. Neelam Jagtap , conducted a very motivating session about Universal Human Values. Post lunch, the Exam-Cell in-charge, Prof. Aruna Sharma addressed the students. On Day 4 of the Student Induction Program 2019-20 started with a session by esteemed Brahmakumaris Speaker, Mr. B K Harish Mehta, on ” Stress management in Engineering studies”, on the 7th floor auditorium. The students were motivated to integrate spiritualism and technology and how to manage stress during Engineering career. A session on Aerobics was conducted by Ms. Kaanchi Gupta and Ms. Naasha Bhot from “2 to Tango” Dance company, at the foyer. The students had lot of fun and danced to their heart’s content. The next of the day, was an orientation session on ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) by Prof.Swati Nadkarni ( I/c HOD, Department of Information Technology ), which informed students about the various activities conducted by the professional body and how ACM helps them launch their careers.The next session was a Motivational Talk by Prof.Shashikant Radke on universal human values, which was followed by a session on Finance by Prof. Neelam Jagtap.IETE Students Forum Coordinator).

On Day 5 of the Student Induction Program 2019-20 started with a talk on Organ Donation, by Shri Jetsey Bhai Jaisal, Dr. Prashant Kumar Maharana ( Resident Medical Officer, National Burns Centre) and Mr. Navin Vazirani( Hospital Coordinator, National Burns Centre). The students understood the importance of saving lives by pledging their organs.On the foyer, a Zumba session was arranged, which was conducted by Zumba experts, Ms.Simran Sharma, Ms. Ruchika Raj Sahani and Mr. Rohan Sharma. The students had lot of fun along with exercise. Post lunch, a very informative session about leading a healthy lifestyle was conducted by Ms.Namita Shah (Proprietor, Namita’s Fitness Hub) and Mr. Gaurav Iyer.A talk encouraging students to bravely follow their aspirations, titled ‘Dare To Dream’ was held by Dr. Neeta Mishra, Brand Ambassador of IDF(Indian Development Foundation).The importance of savings and investment from a young age, was explained by Prof. Neelam Jagtap, in a video session on finance. The day concluded with the Conclusion Meeting and Certificate Distribution for the team, on the 7 th floor auditorium.

FE student Ms. Shraddha Pawar under the guidance of Dr. Namrata Manglani (Assitant Professor, Engineering Science Department, SAKEC) created an application named as Engineering Physics-I. The launch of this application on Google play store was inaugurated by Dr. S.K. Ukrande (Dean Faculty of Science & Technology) on 25th September 2019 at Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College.

Salient features of the application which is totally FREE OF COST are:

1.Physics calculator: Through this feature, students can calculate the result of the problem statement. This feature works best in case of direct problem statements. Formula used for calculation is displayed too.
2.Solved examples: It consists of proper step wise solution for all types of problems.
3.Formula list is provided for revision and reference.

Physics Teachers’ Orientation Program, 25th September,2019

The Physics Teachers’ Orientation for the revised ‘Engineering Physics’ syllabus effective from August 2019 was conducted by the Engineering Science Department at Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, Chembur, Mumbai on 25th September 2019.
The event was attended by 75 external participants from several engineering colleges in Mumbai and distant suburban regions, affiliated to University of Mumbai. The participants actively interacted with each other and prepared an action plan for the syllabus effective from August 2019.

24th January,2020 ENGINEERING PHYSICS APP- II LAUNCH

A team of FE students Mr. Linesh Patil (FE-IX), Ms. Yashika Shetty (FE-IX), Ms. Divya Jain (FE-IX) and Mr. Yash Ughade (FE-IV) along with SE student Ms. Shraddha Pawar and /TE student Ms. Priyanka Singh under the guidance of Dr. Namrata Manglani (Assitant Professor, Engineering Science Department, SAKEC) created an application named as Engineering Physics-II. The launch of this application on Google play store was done on 24th January 2020 from Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College.

Exhibition of Mini Project- Engineering Physics

With a vision to expand the imagination and practical expertise of the students at First Year Engineering, an “Exhibition of Mini project” of Engineering Physics was organized by the Department of General Science and Humanities at Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College on 7th March, 2020.

The First Year Engineering student at the college enthusiastically participated in the exhibition. The students, through their projects, demonstrated their imagination, knowledge and skills in the field of Engineering Physics during the exhibition.The exhibition displayed 82 working projects which were judged by eminent Physicists, Dr. Alexander Geevarghese and Dr. (Mrs.) Usha Goyal.

The First prize at the exhibition was won by the project titled “Anti- Gravity Wheel” by the project group led by Ms. Aditi Bailur and the second prize went to the project titled “Automated Solar Street lighting system” by the project group led by Mr. Manish Gupta.

Poster Presentation and Short Video Competition on Green Chemistry

The event was organized with an objective to develop the attribute of sustainable development among the students by keeping the young minds engaged with some creative as well as knowledge enhancing group activity specially during this Pandemic situation.

The programme was hugely successful with over whelming response from students and Faculties from different Colleges affiliated to University of Mumbai as well as outside. Dr Rajnarayan Saha from NIT West Bengal and Dr. Sudam Dawande from ICT Mumbai were the honorable judges for the competition.

Each Project Group was given 08 min for the presentation followed by QA session with the Expert Panel and other faculties.

Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in collaboration with IETE-SAKEC conducted “Online Technical Paper Presentation Competition” under Oscillation 2022, a technical initiative started under IETE on 23/03/2022.
All the Final Year SAKEC EXTC students participated in this event and around. 13 project groups presented their project work through paper presentations.
Each Project Group was given 08 min for the presentation followed by QA session with the Expert Panel and other faculties.
This Event was conducted in 2 days

“Brahmavidya- your key to health and success” February 2022

Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in association with IETE SAKEC organized an Online Webinar, ‘Brahmavidya- your key to health and success’ on 05 Feb. 2022 at 11.00 Am.
The event was started with introducing NDLI Portal and Club by Ms. Gauri Prasad and then welcoming speaker Mr. Ramesh Karandikar, Brahmavidya followed by a soulful prayer of Brahmavidya preparing everyone for the session.
The speaker explained the following points
What is Brahmavidya?
how it is useful for our mental and physical health, and
how it helps us breathe right and think right.
The session was very interactive. Around 56 attendees were present for the session.
It ended with a 10 minutes meditation. The feedback form was filled out by the participants. All the participants received a certificate from MHRD through NDLI portal.

“Gate Preparation- Future Opportunities” January 2022

Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in association with IETE SAKEC organized an Online Webinar, ‘GATE Preparation – Future Opportunities’ on 29 Jan. 2022 at 2.00 Pm.

“Workshop on PCB Designing using KiCad” October 2021

The “PCB Designing using KiCad Workshop” in collaboration with IETE SAKEC was organized by Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department on 9th October, 2021 in M.S Teams platform. The event was conducted and coordinated by Ms. Lakshmi Iyer, Assistant Professor, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department under the guidance of ISF coordinator Prof. T. P. Vinutha, H.O.D of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department. Total 26 students participated for this workshop.
The workshop began by Prof. T.P Vinutha, H.O.D. EXTC department and IETE-ISF Coordinator addressing all the participants at 10A.M. It was then followed by Ms. Lakshmi Iyer introducing students to the concept of General-purpose board & PCB.
Students were explained in detail the importance of various layers involved in PCB like solder mask, silkscreen, copper pour etc. The speaker then introduced the Open source software tool of KiCad and explained its functionality and its entire design flow. An example of 5V Regulated Power supply was taken and its PCB was designed. Students performed the entire Schematic flow using Eeschema right from setting up the page layout, adding and annotating symbols, associating each one of them with its footprint, doing ERC and generating the netlist. Once the netlist was produced, the students were introduced to PCBnew tool on KiCad where they imported the netlist, created tracks, copper fills and did DRC and finally generated the required files for manufacturing.
Students were also shown various ventures that they can make use of while sourcing their components and also were demonstrated a video which will be helpful for them to understand on designing PCB at home.
The session then ended with a vote of thanks along with feedback and the speaker appreciated all the students for their efforts put it to successfully design a PCB on KiCad.

International Panel Discussion on “Adaptation of advanced technologies before reacting and responding to any natural disaster globally” September 2021

Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and IETE-SAKEC from shah and anchor kutchhi Engineering college has organized an International Panel Discussion On the topic “Adaptation of advanced technologies before reacting and responding to any natural disaster globally” on 30th September 2021 using the virtual platform.
The Keynote Speaker for the event was Dr. K.J. Ramesh, Former Director General, India Meteorological Department, India. He gave a lot of brief knowledge about cyclones, reasons that affect the strength of the cyclone, and technology used for detecting the cyclone before they hit the cyclone and four Panelists speakers Dr. Maria Cerreta, Dr. Pasquale De Toro, Dr. Giuliano Poli, Dr. Mattia Leone from Department of Architecture (DIARC) University of Naples “Federico II”, Italy presented their city port Napoli projects related to disaster management, circular economy for city port Napoli and GIS technology, the purpose of the further research, information about the risk, exposure and vulnerability which can have serious impact earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and hydrogeological events.
Many questions asked by moderator Dr. Kalpana Chaudhari to panelists were answered and discussed with respect to the Indian and European scenario.

“Weekly Webinar Series: Insight of Recent Technological Trends” August 2021

Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and IETE-SAKEC in Collaboration with student chapters of other professional bodies organized “Weekly Webinar Series: Insight of Recent Technological Trends” during 10 July to 7 August 2021.
The objective of this webinar series was to provide insight of recent technological trends in research and development both locally and internationally. The speakers were professors from highly reputed Institutes and Engineers from Entuple Technologies, Bangalore. There were a total of 207 participants registered including faculties and students from various colleges and Industry professionals. It was conducted for a total of 13 hours ( Approx 3 hour weekly).

Online 15-Days Training on “REDHAT ENTERPRISE LINUX (RHEL-7)” June 2021

IETE SAKEC in collaboration with Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department was organized a 15-Day online training on REDHAT ENTERPRISE LINUX (RHEL-7) for EXTC Department Students from 15th June to 30th June 2021 (2 Hrs Per Day)

“Webinar Series on Communication System with MATLAB & Simulink” February 2021

The Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, SAKEC in collaboration with Mathworks & IETE- SAKEC organized 3-Days Webinar Series on “Communication System Using MATLAB & Simulink” on 18, 22 & 23 Feb. 2021 Virtually on MS Teams (Time:- 3.00 Pm to 4.30 Pm).
The webinar was open to all students, Professors and Professionals. Overall around 50 Participants actively attended this webinar series.

Day 2- 5G Toolbox for Communication System
Day 3- Design, Model, and Analyze Networks of RF Component
Every day the Speaker’s talk was followed by a Question and Answer session. Both the Speakers responded to all the queries patiently! Overall, the session was very interactive!!

Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in association with Alumni Cell & IETE SAKEC is organized, ‘My journey from India to Germany’ on 30th Dec. 2020 at 11.00 Am.
Speaker of the event is Mr. Vinit Veera, Alumni of EXTC Dept. Batch 2018-19 went on to pursue his masters degree in Communications and Multimedia Engineering from Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. He is specializing in Audio Signal Processing.
In this talk he covered following points:

[2]. his experience about studying and living in Germany
[3]. finding and applying for internships
[4]. working part time in Germany

“Online Project Poster Presentation Competition under Oscillations 2020” April 2020

Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in collaboration with IETE-SAKEC & IIC2.0 SAKEC conducted “Online Project Poster Presentation Competition” under Oscillation 2020, a technical initiative started under IETE on
15/04/2020.
All the Final Year SAKEC EXTC students participated in this event and around 17 project groups presented their project work through poster presentation. Each Project Group was given 10 min for the presentation followed by QA session with the Judges and other faculties.
This Event was conducted in 2 slots
1. Morning: 11.00 Am – 1.30 Pm
2. Afternoon: 2.30 Pm – 6.00 Pm

“Microcontroller Programming skill Development workshop Project Competition” February 2020

“Microcontroller Programming Skill Development workshop Project Competition ” was organized by Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering department in collaboration with ROBO CLUB SAKEC on 1st February 2020 at the 4th Floor seminar hall.
The event was coordinated by Ms. Gauri Chavan, Mr. Jagdish Sarode and Dr. Kalpana Chaudhari, Assistant Professors, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department under the guidance of ISF coordinator Prof. T. P. Vinutha, H.O.D of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department.
A Total of 22 students (10 groups) from second year and third year of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department have participated in this competition. The event timings were from 10.00 AM – 2.00 PM.
Principal, Dr. Bhavesh Patel and Dr. V.C. Kotak graced the occasion and addressed the students with their motivational words and appreciate students and faculties for their efforts. Prof. Shubhangi Motewar, Assistant Professor Electronics Department and Prof. Archana Chaugale, Assistant Professor Information Technology Department judged this event. They evaluated the project under three criteria such as Hardware Implementation, Software Implementation and Project Presentation.
The winners were declared as follows:
1. The first prize was declared for “Air Pollution Monitoring System” by Mrugank Tanna, Sanjay Bhanushali and Vipul Singh,
2. second prize for “Automatic Railway Gate Control System” by Gore Ananya Ashish & Pathya Jageshwar K. and
3. Finally third prize for “Traffic Light Controller” by Omkar Maurya and Diksha Pawar.
The Prizes and Certificates have distributed to participants by Dr. Bhavesh Patel, Dr. Vinit Kotak, Prof T.P.Vinutha, Prof Swati Nadkarni and Prof Jagdish Sarode.
At the end of the function students appreciated the efforts taken by the faculty members, they also appreciated the management for allowing them to utilize the college resources to enhance their knowledge.

“Introduction to RedHat Linux” January 2020

SAKEC-ACM Student Chapter in collaboration with Electronics & Telecommunication Department and IIC 2.0 of Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College had organised an event on “Introduction to RedHat Linux” on 18th January, 2020 to sharpen the skills and introduce new concepts to the students. Speaker of the event Mr Ashish Tank started the session with concepts of RedHat Linux OS.
The students learned step-wise installation of VMware followed by mounting of RedHat Linux OS in it. They learned commands, networking using RedHat Linux.
Total 41 Students from SE & TE All Department participated in this Event.

“INDUSTRIAL VISIT to ISRO” January 2020

IETE-SAKEC Student Chapter in collaboration with Electronics & Telecommunication Department and IIC 2.0 of Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College had organised INDUSTRIAL VISIT 2020 on 2nd to 9th January, 2020 to
ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC), Bangalore,
Visvesvaraya Industrial And Technological Museum (Vitm), Bangalore
Centre For Development Of Advanced Computing (C-Dac), Bangalore and
Pondicherry
ISTRAC is entrusted with the major responsibility to provide tracking support for all the satellite and launch vehicle Missions of ISRO. The major objectives of the Centre are to carry out mission operations of all operational remote sensing and scientific satellites and provide them Telemetry, Tracking and Command (TTC) services from launch vehicle lift-off till injection of satellite into orbit, also estimate its preliminary orbit in space and hardware and software developmental activities that enhance the capabilities of ISTRAC for providing flawless TTC and Mission Operations service.
Mr. B Sankar Madaswamy, scientist/Engineer-SF, Manager, HRD, ISTRAC, Bengaluru. briefed about the ISTRAC and its operations.
Students gained knowledge about the orbital path of Mars mission and motivated to participate and contribute towards space research programs of India.
VITM, a constituent unit of National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), Ministry of Culture, Government of India, was established in memory of Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya. A modest building with a built-up area of 4000 sq. mtrs. was constructed in the serene surrounding of the Cubbon Park, housing various industrial products and engines,
VITM visit has striven to fulfill its objectives of stimulating creativity, innovation ideas among SAKEC students so that our students will reach new heights in their careers in the field of Engineering.
C-DAC, BANGALORE is the premier R&D organization of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) for carrying out R&D in IT, Electronics and associated areas. Different areas of C-DAC had originated at different times, many of which came out as a result of the identification of opportunities. The setting up of C-DAC in 1988 itself was to built Supercomputers in context of denial of import of Supercomputers by USA. Since then C-DAC has been undertaking the building of multiple generations of Supercomputers starting from PARAM with 1 GF in 1988. Students learn all technical aspects through the CDAC visit.
Total 54 Students from all year and Department participated in this Industrial Visit.

“Microcontroller Programming skill Development workshop: Winter 2019 Internship” January 2020

“Microcontroller Programming skill Development workshop Winter 2019 Internship” organized by Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering department in collaboration with E-cell SAKEC from 16th December, 2019 to 3rd January, 2020 (3 Weeks).
The total 19 students have participated during winter 2019 internship program . Students have implemented projects based on 8051 Microcontroller and Arduino Uno. Students are mentored by Ms. Gauri Chavan, Mr. Jagdish Sarode, Dr. Kalpana Chaudhari, Ms. Gauri Deshpande, Ms Shweta Shetty along with supportive staff Ms. Minakshi Sanas, Ms. Shradha Avachat and Mr. Tukaram Chavan.
Valedictory function is conducted on 1st February 2020 at 2 PM in 4th Floor auditorium. Principal, Dr. Bhavesh Patel, Dr. Vinit Kotak addressed the students along with HOD EXTC and ISF co-ordinator Prof. T.P.Vinutha. The students were appreciated with the certificates given by Dr. Bhavesh Patel, Dr. Vinit Kotak and Prof. T.P.Vinutha.
At the end of the session students have given the good feedback about the internship and also they have explained how it will be useful for their further enhancement.

“Hands on Workshop of Microcontroller Programming Skill Development” December 2019

“Five days Hands on Workshop of Microcontroller Programming skill Development” organized by Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department in collaboration with IETE SAKEC from 9th December 2019 to 13th December 2019.
The workshop inauguration is done by Prof. T.P Vinutha, H.O.D. EXTC department. She addressed to all the participants. These Hands-on sessions was conducted by Ms. Gauri Chavan, Mr. Jagdish Sarode and Dr. Kalpana Chaudhari.
In this workshop the key points covered are
1. Architecture and Hardware components of Microcontroller
2. Microcontroller programming skills using assembly language and C programming
3. Keil and Proteus Software
4. Various input and output interfacing with Microcontroller.
During five days workshop, Ms. Shweta Shetty and Ms. Gauri Deshpande maintained coordination with all participants and speakers and also helped the students to fulfill their requirement during workshop. The supporting staff Ms. Minakshi Sanas, Mr. Tukaram Chavan, Ms. Shradhha Avachat helped to check microcontroller kits, installation of keil software & maintain laboratory during workshop.
Total 26 Students from SE & TE EXTC Department participated in this Event.

“Skill Development Workshop” September 2019

“Skills are what a person can achieve on his/her own or in a team and today, many students lack these essential qualities that are required for the professional world” Hence, Department of Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering came up with an event on Skill Development for the current third year students which was conducted on 15th September 2019. The event was taken up by the students of EXTC for the students of EXTC. The event was coordinated by Ms. Gauri Chavan with the help of Ms. Uma Raj, Ms. Seema Kawale, Mr. Deepak Mishra, Ms. Shweta Shetty. Total 31 students have participated in this workshop. The event timings were from 10 am – 2.30 pm.
Mr. Vinit Veera, an alumni, enlightened the audience with a presentation on “Soft Skills” and how it is important not only in the professional world but also in day-to-day life.
It was then followed by a session on “Aptitude test” conducted by Mr. Rahul Mehta who went over the basics of an aptitude test, why is it needed and how to crack it.
Mr. Himanshu Rasal, an alumni, then conducted an interactive lecture on “C programming” as it is one of the most basic and industry demanding programming languages. He also went over some of the questions that are asked not only in aptitude tests but also interviews.
The next speaker was Ms. Dhruvi Shah, BE EXTC Student who took an in-depth session on “SQL” where she explained from scratch about databases, ER model as well as working with databases and different SQL queries.
Mr. Krishnakanth, an alumni, gave a session on “Java programming” where he explained what is Java, it’s importance, certain features and principles.
Finally, the last speaker was Mr. Neil Karania, BE EXTC Student who took a session on “Networking & OS” where he explained about IP, how it all works, and he also explained the fundamentals of OS.
The event concluded with a thank you note from Prof. Gauri Chavan and a token of appreciation was given to all the speakers.

“Drone Development workshop” August 2019

Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering in association with IETE-SAKEC had organized “Drone Development workshop” by WeCan Educational Organization in association with Drona Aviation, IIT Bombay on 9th – 10th August 2019.
In this workshop following topics are covered:
1. Understanding of Drone BASICS
2. Concept of Aerodynamics
3. Electronic System interfacing
4. Programming with IDE-CYGNUS
5. Assembling and Flying Drone
The above Hands-on-workshop and competition had a huge response from SAKEC students and also from other college students.

My experience with GRE and how I ended up choosing Germany – July 2019

Project Poster Presentation – Mar 2019

Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering in collaboration with IETE SAKEC was organized “Project Poster Presentation” on 27th March 2019, Wednesday in 7th floor drawing room. The event was coordinated by Ms. Gauri Chavan and Ms.Uma Raj, Assistant Professor, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department under the guidance of ISF coordinator Prof. T. P. Vinutha, H.O.D of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department.
Total 101 students (31 Project Groups) participated in this competition from all Department.
Dr. V.C. Kotak, Vice Principal SAKEC, graced the occasion. He has given his valuable feedback to all the groups. Prof. P.G. Khedkar, Associate Professor Electronics Department, Prof. Bhakti Sonawane, Assistant Professor Computer Science Department, Prof. Archana Chaugale, Assistant Professor Information Technology Department judged this event.

Industrial visit to “BSNL Satellite Earth Station” at Yeur, Thane

Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering in association with IEEE SAKEC have organized an Industrial visit to “BSNL Satellite Earth Station” at Yeur, Thane on 20th March, 2019. This is the only satellite earth station in Mumbai region.
Industrial visit started with first session which began at 10:30 am with the introduction of basics of communication principles and its current fields of application. Doubts of students were solved efficiently ensuring that they get the basic insights clear. After first session second session started which was concentrated more on practical in which students how satellites communicate with earth stations and other satellite, communication between earth stations and other organisations, transmission and modulation of signals, communication in adverse climate conditions etc.Here by we ended with second session at 2:30 pm.
