A peer learning session on “IoT Architecture in Drones” was conducted by Atharva Avhad, a student of B.Tech. ECS 1, on 09th September 2026, as part of the peer learning initiative. The session introduced students to the role of Internet of Things (IoT) in drone-based systems, covering sensing, processing, communication, data/cloud, and application layers. The session also highlighted the role of local and cloud-based data storage and possible applications such as monitoring, mapping, telemetry, and data analytics.
A key highlight of the session was a video demonstration of the drone in operation, followed by a demonstration of the actual drone developed by Atharva and his teammates, including its sensors and hardware components. This helped students connect the concepts discussed in the presentation with their implementation in a real-world drone system. The session provided students with practical exposure to the integration of IoT, sensors, embedded processing, communication, and drone technology
