We are proud to share that Team Aura from the ECS Department, comprising final year students Purva Ambre, Ananya Pulgaonkar, Resha Nayak, and Tanisha Maji, secured Second Place at the Inter-College Project Competition Avishkar 2026 held at Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues Institute of Technology. Their remarkable achievement reflects the team’s unwavering dedication and hard work toward their innovative project, FAiMN. The project stands out as a novel and forward-thinking initiative, showcasing creativity, technical excellence, and a strong commitment to problem-solving. This accomplishment is a testament to their perseverance, teamwork, and passion for innovation.

Their remarkable achievement reflects the team’s unwavering dedication and hard work toward their innovative project, FAiMN. The project stands out as a novel and forward-thinking initiative, showcasing creativity, technical excellence, and a strong commitment to problem-solving. This accomplishment is a testament to their perseverance, teamwork, and passion for innovation.

Students from the institute achieved an impressive milestone by securing 3rd Prize at the Hakron – 24 Hour Hackathon with prize money of Rs. 10,000, organized by Newton School of Technology, held from 31st January to 1st February 2026. The event challenged participants to design and develop innovative solutions within a 24-hour time frame.

The team Neon Cortex, consisting of Dhanshree Porwal, Rajat Adsule, Mehtab Ali, Sayali Bhagwat, and Aditya Dherange, developed an innovative project titled “AI Vital Health.” The project is an AI-powered Hospital Management System that utilizes intelligent AI agents to enhance hospital operations.

The proposed solution focuses on efficient patient management, prioritization of emergency cases, and reduction of administrative workload through smart automation and data-driven insights. The system aims to improve hospital workflow efficiency and support better healthcare delivery.

This achievement reflects the students’ innovation, teamwork, and technical capabilities, bringing pride to the institution.

The Department of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS), Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College (SAKEC), proudly congratulates Dr. Virendra Koli on being awarded a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), Singapore.

This prestigious international fellowship recognizes Dr. Koli’s significant contributions to research and his academic excellence in the field of Electronics and Computer Science. The fellowship provides an opportunity to engage in advanced research, collaborate with international experts, and contribute to cutting-edge technological developments.

Dr. Koli’s achievement reflects the strong research culture fostered by the ECS Department and reinforces SAKEC’s commitment to promoting faculty research, global collaboration, and academic excellence.

The Department of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) proudly announces that our student, Mr. Shashwat Shukla from Final year B.Tech has received a patent grant from the Indian Patent Office, Government of India, reflecting the department’s strong research culture and encouragement towards innovation and intellectual property creation.

Our HOD, Dr. Asha Durafe received the Most Influential Professor award for the year 2025 by Dewang Mehta National Education Students’ Leadership Awards for her educational achievements, students impact and future orientation.

The award ceremony took place on 19th November 2025 at Taj Lands, Mumbai.

Ms. Deepika P. Patil, faculty member of the Department of Electronics and Computer Science at Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, successfully participated in the IUCEE International Educator Certification Program (IIECP) – Spring 2025, organized by the Indo Universal Collaboration for Engineering Education (IUCEE). The program aimed to enhance teaching effectiveness through innovative, learner-centric, and outcome-based educational practices. Through active participation and reflective learning, Ms. Patil showcased her dedication to academic excellence and continuous professional development in engineering education.

The Department of Electronics and Computer Science, Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College (SAKEC) is delighted to share that Dr. Asha Durafe has been
honored with the IEI NMLC-FCRIT Excellence Award 2025 for Research Excellence in Teaching Faculty (Regional Category).
The award was jointly presented by The Institution of Engineers (India), Navi Mumbai Local Centre and Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute of Technology, Vashi, at the Excellence Awards Ceremony held on 16th September 2025 at IEI Centre Belapur, Navi Mumbai.

Dr. Asha Durafe has received Best Faculty Award for publishing research in high indexed papers by CSI Technext in August 2024.

The department congratulates Dr. Sarika Bukkawar for winning the Best Paper Award at the 2nd International Conference on Technologies for Energy, Agriculture and Healthcare (ICTEAH 2025) for her paper titled IOT in Pisciculture : Revolutionising Fish Farming for Cleaner Water Ecosystem.

The conference was held at K J Somaiya School of Engineering, Somaiya Vidyavihar University Mumbai, on 5th and 6th June 2025.
