We are proud to share that Team Aura from the ECS Department, comprising final year students Purva Ambre, Ananya Pulgaonkar, Resha Nayak, and Tanisha Maji, secured Second Place at the Inter-College Project Competition Avishkar 2026 held at Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues Institute of Technology. Their remarkable achievement reflects the team’s unwavering dedication and hard work toward their innovative project, FAiMN. Students Achieve 3rd Prize at Hakron 24-Hour Hackathon-Jan 2026

Students from the institute achieved an impressive milestone by securing 3rd Prize at the Hakron – 24 Hour Hackathon with prize money of Rs. 10,000, organized by Newton School of Technology, held from 31st January to 1st February 2026. The event challenged participants to design and develop innovative solutions within a 24-hour time frame.

The team Neon Cortex, consisting of Dhanshree Porwal, Rajat Adsule, Mehtab Ali, Sayali Bhagwat, and Aditya Dherange, developed an innovative project titled “AI Vital Health.” The project is an AI-powered Hospital Management System that utilizes intelligent AI agents to enhance hospital operations.

The proposed solution focuses on efficient patient management, prioritization of emergency cases, and reduction of administrative workload through smart automation and data-driven insights. The system aims to improve hospital workflow efficiency and support better healthcare delivery.

This achievement reflects the students’ innovation, teamwork, and technical capabilities, bringing pride to the institution.

 

 

 

 

Faculty Achievement – Dr.Virendra Koli- International Post-Doctoral Fellowship-January 2026

Student Achievement – Patent Granted to Mr. Shashwat Shukla-Nov 2025

Periscope Healthcare Hackathon- Dec 2025

Department of Electronics and Computer Science congratulates Aaditya Jaiswar (TY ECS), Samyak Dandge (TY ECS), Sairaj Sawant (Final Year ECS) for winning First Prize worth Rs. 1 Lakh at the Periscope Healthcare Hackathon 2025 for their project: Arogyasense, an AI-powered elderly-care wearable that tracks vitals, detects falls, predicts glucose trends, and triggers real-time caregiver alerts.

The project was guided by ECS Faculty Dr. Dibyalekha Nayak.

STORY OF MAKERS 2019

We congratulate Mr.Alagarswamy Rakesh, Mr.Aniket Shinde, Ms. Dangat Amrita and Mr. Bhalekar Vinay, Mr. Jay Ramane of the ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of SAKEC for being Second Runner Up at the Story of Makers, Degree and Open Category for their Research Project Titled 3-Axis CNC Machine. They have developed a prototype of an industrial machine which has 3 Axes i.e. X- Horizontal, Y- Horizontal and Vertical. The said prototype can perform laser cutting, milling, engraving and 3D printing just by switching different tool ports. They are the pioneers who innovated this machine which integrates multiple functionalities.
They have received offers from Bhupendra Gala, Mahenkar and Shailesh Gala for getting the project in the market.

Indian Army 2020

We congratulate Mr.. Nilesh Gaonkar, BE-Electronics Engineering, batch of 2019, who has been selected by SSB-Indian Army, with All India Rank-1 in Electronics stream. Currently, he is under one year training by IMA, at Dehradun after which he will get his first posting.

Workshops and Internships Organized

Prof. Asha Durafe organized one day Industrial Visit at L & T Rabale switchgear section on 7th Oct. 2017 for students of Electronics Engineering, Conducted workshop on Copyright Filing for Faculty and students at SAKEC on 14th Feb 2020, Conducted a session on Linux Firewall in Internship on System Administration & Networking during a period 20.12.2018 to 29.12.2018 at SAKEC and an Internship Program on System and Network in association with E-Cell SAKEC. She also organized an intra-college project competition- PROJECT HUNT under Department of Electronics Engineering at SAKEC on 21st April 2017 to showcase innovative ideas of students on a common platform.
Prof. Shubhangi Motewar organised one week AICTE-ISTE approved SHORT TERM TRAINING PROGRAMME on “Advanced Embedded and Real Time Application Design” from 3rd July to 8th July 2017, an Intra college Project competition “ Project Hunt” on 21st April 2017 for BE project of all departments, an event on “Relational Model Redesign” for students of third year electronics on 29th September 2018, in collaboration with ACM chapter and two weeks internship for students of all departments in Shah and Anchor Kutchii Engineering college on “Design-e-Mania : An exploration into the world of Arduino and Raspberry-Pi” from 24th June to 8th July 2019. She worked as coordinator for FDP of Remote centre of IITB on “Arduino Workshop” on 8th February 2020. She has been invited as a speaker for one day workshop “Arduino for Beginners” by Department of Electronics in collaboration with ISTE on 19th September 2018, and as a judge for the Project competition event on 1st February 2020 at 10 am, Organised by Department of Electronics and Telecommunication .

Prof. Madhura Pednekar has worked as Coordinator and Resource person for Summer Internship 2019- Design –e-mania an exploration into the world of Arduino and Raspberry Pi, Internship December 2019- Internship Opportunity on System and Network Administration and one day workshop “Arduino for Beginners” in collaboration with ISTE on 19th September 2018.

Prof. Salabha Jacob worked as resource person for the Technical workshop on MATLAB for IEEE SAKEC on 13th February 2016, organized one week AICTE-ISTE approved Short Term Training Programme on “Pedagogy for Effective Integration of ICT in Engineering Education from 3rd May 2018 to 8th May 2018, organized an industrial visit to BARC: Robotics and Remote Handling Lab on 21st March 2018 and guided the project Vehicle Identification and Parking Allotment System which was showcased in Big Idea summit Expo2018.

Prof. Sarika Bukkawar has mentored a Project that got selected in final round at University Level and Avishkar project competition. That project got selected in Big Idea summit, and expo 2018 project exhibition. She has also been our coordinator for e-sim remote centre.

NPTEL Toppers Nov 2019

Literary Awards

We congratulate our staff Prof. Preethi Warrier for winning Indian Women Achievers Award 2020 at Asian Literary Society and third Prize in the Asian Literary Society’s, 1st Gitesh-Biva Memorial Award 2019, for her short story, ‘Orphaned For Good.’ She has also won awards at TOI Write India Season 1 and blogging portals like Womens’ Web and Momspresso.

Research Grant 2019-20

We congratulate our staff Prof. Asha Drafe for receiving a University Minor Research Grant of 35000 INR for a project on Steganography for Public Security. We also congratulate Prof. Sarika Bukkawar for receiving a Minor Research Grant (2019-20) of 25000 INR from Mumbai University for the project titled ” IoT based Water Quality and Underwater activity monitoring for fish farming”.

Smart India Hackathon 2020

We congratulate our Team Resilient6, that is, our students from Third Year, Ankit Goswami, Ashwini Gangwal, Aleesha Jiwani, Dhrumil Buch, Niranjan Chotalia and Hiren Bhanushali for being shortlisted for Phase 2 Evaluation of Smart India Hackathon 2020 Hardware Edition. They were guided by Prof. Manisha Mane.”

Product Development 2020

We congratulate our staff, Prof. Santosh Kamble for developing two products named ‘Touch less automatic hand sanitizer dispenser’ and ‘Contact less wall mounted thermometer with temperature alarm’.Both products are very useful in college premises as well as for offices, schools, companies and societies, during the COVID-19 Situation.
