A total of 82 teams participated in this two-month-long competition, out of which the top 27 teams qualified for the Final Round held on 10th April 2026 at SAKEC.

🏆 Department Achievement – Project Competition

Yash Vyas and Monish Shah secured First Prize in the Project Competition at the Tech Expo held on 20th February 2026 for their innovative project titled “Dhvani – The Sound You Feel.”

Their project showcased a unique and impactful approach, reflecting technical excellence and creativity.

the project “Nirbhaya: Real Time Threat Detection for Women Safety ” from our department was successfully showcased by Third Year (TY-EXTC) students.

Solar Decathlon India Finalist: A competition focused on Net Zero and Sustainable Innovation

Received amount of 1, 25000 for the project Residential Cooling Retrofit Division.

The SAKEC team worked on designing a scalable retrofit solution that reduces cooling energy demand while remaining cost-effective for middle-income households. The design combined passive cooling strategies, energy modeling, and innovative materials, tailored for hot and humid climates.

Dr. T. P. Vinutha received the Best Presenter Award at the Faculty Patent Showcase during SAKEC Tech Symposium 2026 for presenting the patent titled “Autonomous IoT Based Railway Wagon Monitoring and Load Balancing System and Method.

Ms. Mamta Tikaria mentored the project “AIR-GUARD” which was shortlisted in the Zonal Round (Zone X – Engineering) at Aavishkar Research Convention 2025, organized by the University of Mumbai.

Dr. Pramod Parshuram Bhavarthe received the IACC Best Researcher Award from the International Advanced Computing Community in recognition of outstanding research contributions in the field of advanced computing

Rohan Appasaheb Borgalli received the ISRD International Preeminent Academic Excellence Award 2022 from the International Institute of Organized Research in recognition of outstanding academic and research contributions

Rohan Appasaheb Borgalli received the National Faculty Award 2022–2023 (Best Researcher Award) from the Novel Research Academy in recognition of outstanding research contributions in science and technology.

Students Achieve 3rd Prize at Hakron 24-Hour Hackathon-Jan 2026

Students from the institute achieved an impressive milestone by securing 3rd Prize at the Hakron – 24 Hour Hackathon with prize money of Rs. 10,000, organized by Newton School of Technology, held from 31st January to 1st February 2026. The event challenged participants to design and develop innovative solutions within a 24-hour time frame.

The team Neon Cortex, consisting of Dhanshree Porwal, Rajat Adsule, Mehtab Ali, Sayali Bhagwat, and Aditya Dherange, developed an innovative project titled “AI Vital Health.” The project is an AI-powered Hospital Management System that utilizes intelligent AI agents to enhance hospital operations.

The proposed solution focuses on efficient patient management, prioritization of emergency cases, and reduction of administrative workload through smart automation and data-driven insights. The system aims to improve hospital workflow efficiency and support better healthcare delivery.

This achievement reflects the students’ innovation, teamwork, and technical capabilities, bringing pride to the institution.

Participation of PG students in 19th Avishkar Research Convention 2024

The three PG Computer Engineering students Mr. Rohan Shah, Ms. Chahat Tandon and Mr. Akash Prabhudesai of batch 2022-2024 actively participated in the 19th Avishkar Research Convention 2024, which is a large-scale research convention in Maharashtra, organized to foster a research culture among students from undergraduate to doctoral levels. It involves students presenting their research projects, with the convention taking place in multiple tiers, starting at the district level and progressing to zonal and state levels.  Mr. Rohan Shah (Third Rank) and Ms. Chahat Tandon (Consolation Prize) achieved notable outcomes at the Final round of University of Mumbai. Periscope Healthcare Hackathon- Dec 2025

Department of Electronics and Computer Science congratulates Aaditya Jaiswar (TY ECS), Samyak Dandge (TY ECS), Sairaj Sawant (Final Year ECS) for winning First Prize worth Rs. 1 Lakh at the Periscope Healthcare Hackathon 2025 for their project: Arogyasense, an AI-powered elderly-care wearable that tracks vitals, detects falls, predicts glucose trends, and triggers real-time caregiver alerts.

The project was guided by ECS Faculty Dr. Dibyalekha Nayak.

The department congratulates Dr. Sarika Bukkawar for winning the Best Paper Award at the 2nd International Conference on Technologies for Energy, Agriculture and Healthcare (ICTEAH 2025) for her paper titled IOT in Pisciculture : Revolutionising Fish Farming for Cleaner Water Ecosystem.

The conference was held at K J Somaiya School of Engineering, Somaiya Vidyavihar University Mumbai, on 5th and 6th June 2025.
