Project Title:
AIRA – Compact Thermoelectric Cooling & Air Purification System

Project Highlights:

  • Developed two innovative cooling systems:
    • Aluminum Channels Cooling (no moving parts – energy efficient)
    • Radiant Cooling System
  • Designed specifically to address core cutting challenges in Mumbai homes
  • Functions as both an Air Conditioner + Air Purifier
  • Portable, plug-and-play solution for modern urban living

1st Runner up in Sustainability Ideathon 2K26

We are proud to share that our students showcased their innovation and commitment towards sustainability at the Sustainability Ideathon 2K26, organized by the Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute of Technology Green Club.

The EXTC Department of Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College (SAKEC), in collaboration with Monk9 Tech, SAKEC IIC, and the SAKEC Student Council, successfully organized a national-level hackathon with support from ARK Infosolutions.

A total of 82 teams participated in this two-month-long competition, out of which the top 27 teams qualified for the Final Round held on 10th April 2026 at SAKEC.

We are proud to announce that our students emerged as winners at the national level. 🎉 They secured a cash prize of ₹20,000 and also received an exclusive opportunity to have their chip design developed by Monk9 Tech, offering valuable industry exposure and hands-on experience.

The team was also awarded a cash prize of ₹25,000 by SDI in recognition of their outstanding project and innovative contribution.

🏆 Department Achievement – Project Competition

Yash Vyas and Monish Shah secured First Prize in the Project Competition at the Tech Expo held on 20th February 2026 for their innovative project titled “Dhvani – The Sound You Feel.”

Their project showcased a unique and impactful approach, reflecting technical excellence and creativity.

 

The Best Student Chapter Award was received under IUCEE, and as part of the IASf 2026 Student Chapter Project Showcase,
the project “Nirbhaya: Real Time Threat Detection for Women Safety ” from our department was successfully showcased by Third Year (TY-EXTC) students.

Received amount of 1, 25000 for the project Residential Cooling Retrofit Division.

The SAKEC team worked on designing a scalable retrofit solution that reduces cooling energy demand while remaining cost-effective for middle-income households. The design combined passive cooling strategies, energy modeling, and innovative materials, tailored for hot and humid climates.

Dr. T. P. Vinutha received the Best Presenter Award at the Faculty Patent Showcase during SAKEC Tech Symposium 2026 for presenting the patent titled “Autonomous IoT Based Railway Wagon Monitoring and Load Balancing System and Method.

Ms. Mamta Tikaria mentored the project “AIR-GUARD” which was shortlisted in the Zonal Round (Zone X – Engineering) at Aavishkar Research Convention 2025, organized by the University of Mumbai.

Dr. Pramod Parshuram Bhavarthe received the IACC Best Researcher Award from the International Advanced Computing Community in recognition of outstanding research contributions in the field of advanced computing

The Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department, Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, Mumbai has received a Certificate of Appreciation from MathWorks (2024 Award) for its continued support in adopting MATLAB® and Simulink® in the curriculum, student projects, and research activities.

We congratulate team of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department who were selected for the BIG IDEA SUMMIT 2018 EXPO. They showcased the Set Up SMART MIRROR, guided by Prof. Rohan Borgalli and the members were Mr.Vinit Veera, Mr.Karan Shah and Mr. Harsh Shah. The summit was held on 22/12/2018 at Ghatkopar, Mumbai.
