Event Coordinators: Faculty-Ms. Tina Maru, Student: Mr. Nisarg Sheth
The Day 1 of the workshop started with a speech given by the HOD of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science that is Dr. Rekha Ramesh. In her speech she motivated the students to learn about Machine Learning and made the participants aware about the importance and benefits of the workshop. She thanked the participants for registering in the workshop.
After the speech of the HOD the session was continued by the CogniScience Club members where they gave them the flow and overview of the 5-days workshop. In the first slot they explained and taught them about the python libraries which are Numpy and Pandas. The participants were very interactive during the session. The second slot began after a break where the participants learned about Data cleaning and then implemented on the given dataset. All doubts and errors were solved by the club members. The first day was concluded with a quiz based on the things which were taught.
On the Day 2 of the workshop the participants were taught about Data visualization by the club members. In the first slot they learned to create interactive graphs using python libraries Matplotlib, Seaborn and Plotly and solved the problem statements based on these graphs. With the help of PowerBI, participants created their own graphs during the second slot which clearly showed their interest in learning.
Day 3 of the workshop was conducted on the hybrid mode due to heavy rains. During the first slot Ms. Pinki Vishwakarma introduced machine learning to the participants and explained Linear Regression which is a Machine Learning algorithm. She explained them about types of regression and trian & test of model and also cleared the conceptual part with real life example. These examples were understandable and informative. They implemented the code and concept of linear regression by building an ML model in the second slot.
The Day 4 of the workshop was also hybrid. Ms Pinki Vishwakarma taught the next algorithm of machine learning that is Naïve Bayes Classifier in the first slot. The participants learned about how to classify the data and find an appropriate output. After the teaching in the first slot Ms. Pinki Vishwakarma was felicitated by Dr. Rekha Ramesh the HOD of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Department. The participants implemented the code and concept in the second slot. The Day 4 of the workshop was concluded with a brief information about the competition on the Day 5.
On the Day 5 of the workshop 2 hours competition was held. The participants were randomly given the problem statements and they had to do Data cleaning, Data Visualization and building of ML model. After 2 hours the three judges Dr. Rekha Ramesh, Ms. Jalpa Mehta and Ms. Tina Maru gave the scores to the participants as per their output. In the second slot there was a half an hour session on Artificial Intelligence and Data Science by the speaker Mr. Shaikh Mohammad Salman who was also an alumni from Shah And Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College. In his speech he talked about machine learning and also motivated the participants to be confident with his enlightening words. There were many questions and answers during the session thereby making it interactive and interesting. Lastly he also discussed about his experience which is faced by most of the students. After his speech the speaker was felicitated by a certificate as a token of appreciation by the HOD Dr. Rekha Ramesh. Meanwhile winners were decided and were felicitated with certificate and cash prize from the speaker. Participants were provided with a participation certificate. The HOD Dr. Rekha Ramesh gave certificates to the CogniScience club members for organizing this event and making it a great success. The workshop was concluded with a vote of thanks given by the student co-ordinator Mr. Nisarg Sheth. “Winter Internship on VLSI Design” Jan 2023

Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College in association with IETE Mumbai and IIC 5.0 organized winter Internship on VLSI Design from 26th December 2022 to 6th January 2023. The internship was organized with an aim to make the students industry ready in the field of VLSI Design. In the first part of the internship, lecture and practical sessions were conducted by Dr. Sushma Srivastava and Prof. Shridhar Sahu for 5 days starting from 26th December 2022. The lecture sessions included MOSFET physics, MOSFET operation, CMOS inverter design, CS amplifier design. The designed circuits were implemented and simulated in the industry standard CADENCE toolset’s Virtuoso tool. They were taught to design schematic as well as layout of the circuit and perform different types of simulations as required. They were also taught to generate the GDS-II stream file which is given for fabrication.

The students were then assigned a problem statement on the design and implementation of a current source load CS amplifier based on the knowledge acquired during the lecture and practical sessions held earlier. They completed this project in the remaining period of the internship and a competition was conducted based upon the design and specifications achieved.. They were supposed to design the circuit for the required specifications on paper and then implement and simulate the circuit on the Virtuoso tool. After successfully designing and implementing the schematic of the circuit, the students had to design the layout of the circuit and perform the post layout simulations for the same parameters and were expected to achieve minimum change as compared to schematic simulations.

The students were divided into six groups and performed overwhelmingly well and all groups achieved the required specifications by designing and implementing the circuit designed on the virtuoso tool. Rubrics were disseminated to the participants at the start of the competition and the groups were graded accordingly. Viva-voce was part of the rubrics and was conducted by Mr. Abhishek Kadam, IITB Research Scholar. Top two performers were awarded winner certificates and prize money. Mr. Abhishek Kadam delivered a session on VLSI Chip Design Flow & Neuromorphic Engineering on the last day of the internship and after that, valedictory function was conducted which was graced by the presence of Dr. Bhavesh Patel, Principal SAKEC, Mr. Abhishek Kadam, Dr. Vinutha T. P., ISF SAKEC Coordinator, Dr. Sushma Srivastava, Prof. Shridhar Sahu and students. Dr. Bhavesh Patel talked about the increasing demand in the field of VLSI Design and the relevance of this internship. All students were presented with the participation certificates by Mr. Abhishek Kadam
