The Faculty Development Program on ‘Building AI applications for Electronics-Based Systems’ from 27-2-2025  to 5-3-2025 was organized by the Electronics and Computer Science Department.

28 faculty members and students attended this FDP.

Esteemed industry speakers, Mr. Kunal Khandelwal (Application Engineer – MathWorks DesignTech Systems Pvt. Ltd.) and Mr. Nitin Kukreja (Data Scientist | Generative AI | LLMs | Machine Learning | Deep Learning | Fraud Detection at National Payments Corporation Of India (NPCI) ) had been invited for this FDP.

Mr Kunal Khandelwal delivered a talk on building AI applications using MATLAB, and Mr. Nitin Kukreja elaborated on generative AI applications. Dr. Subha Subramaniam (HOD Electronics and Computer Science) delivered a talk on the use of AI in Research.

AICTE ATAL Approved 6 Days FDP on Deep Learning and Applications- December 2024

The Department of Electronics & Computer Science of Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College in association with AICTE- Training and Learning(ATAL) Academy organized a 6 Days online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Deep Learning & its Applications” From 16th Dec to 21st Dec, 2024

FDP is conducted in 22 hours of teaching in thirteen equal sessions by Renowned resource faculties from reputed industry/corporate/research laboratories.

Atal FDP on Deep Learning and Applications Started with a Welcome address from HOD of Electronics & Computer Science Department, Dr. Subha Subramaniam.

Dr. Saroj K. Biswas, Professor at NIT Silchar  Enlighted on basics of machine Learning and deep learning concept in Neural Network.

The session is ended with Q and A, where participants took the opportunity to have a conversation with the speaker.

The second session of day 1 started with Dr. Venkantanareshbabu K., Assistant Professor,NIT Goa. Sir has an enlightened mathematical concept of Deep Learning neural network.

Day 2 started with Research area of Deep Learning  by Mr.Daniel Ma, VP of Research, Development, & Engineering Science | Co-Founder, followed by a session from Dr. Neeraj Kumar Professor, Thapar University on IoT and Deep Learning.

Day 3 started with the thrust area of cyber security where  Dr. Rajani Mangala , Professor, Vivekanand Institute of Technology, Mumbai , highlighted the effectiveness of Deep learning in Cyber Security.

Ms. Sujitha Kurup , co-founder of Inovays Demystified 3D Deep learning concept very effectively.

Day 4 started with a Case study in Deep Learning by our expert Ms.Priti Satyanaik, Director at PwC, Bengaluru which is followed by Expert Mr. Subrata Mandal, Sr. manager, PwC

Sentiment Analysis using Deep Learning delivered by expert Dr. Kranti Ghag, Associate professor, D.J Sanghvi College of Engineering, Mumbai in very effective manner

Cadence Full Stack Training (Full Custom and Semi Custom)

The Department of Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design and Technology) organized Cadence Full stack training for both full and semi custom VLSI design flow from June 26 to June 28 2024. Faculty learnt both the flow with tools under cadence like NCSim, Innovus, Virtuoso, etc, in a full hands on training, which was conducted by Mr. Priyanshu from Entuple technologies.

Xilinx Vivado and FPGA Design Training

Department of Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design & Technology) Organized Training on Xilinx Viado and FPGA Design Flow on 10/01/2025 from 10am to 5pm. Location : 304 Lab. Participants studied complete hands on tool of the Xilinx Vivado using two baords, the urbana and the PynQ SoC board which was essential for the academic semseters in the future.

level Faculty Development Programme on “Generative AI and Data Science Applications”
sponsored by AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy from 2nd December, 2024
to 7th December, 2024. The faculties from engineering institutes from Mumbai region
participated in this Offline FDP.

    “Spirituality in professionalism through Bhagwad Gita” and “NEP 2020: Implement IKS for Viksit Bharat 2047”

    Department of Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design and Technology ) organized a Faculty Development Program  on “Spirituality in professionalism through Bhagwad Gita” and “NEP 2020: Implement IKS for Viksit Bharat 2047” on Ist March 2025 . Our esteemed speaker of the session was  Dr.VedVyas Dwivedi, Professor, Executive Vice President, Vedic teacher, Indus University, Gujarat. This session  was a compelling intersection of ancient wisdom and modern educational policy. The core themes revolved around: Spirituality in Professionalism: Drawing insights from the Srimad Bhagavad Gita to instill ethical values and a sense of duty within professional conduct. NEP 2020 and IKS: Highlighting the National Education Policy 2020’s emphasis on integrating Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) into contemporary education. Viksit Bharat 2047: Connecting these principles to the broader vision of a developed India by 2047, emphasizing how spiritual and traditional knowledge can contribute to national progress.

    The ISTE-approved One-Week Short-Term Training Program (STTP) on “Pathways to Ethical and Impactful Research Publications”, organized by Research Centre Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College  in Collaboration with  Computer Engineering and Electronics and Telecommunication Engg. Department from January 25- 22nd February, 2025 – (06 Days). This program aimed to equip researchers with the knowledge and skills required to conduct ethically sound research, publish high-quality work in reputable journals, and build a credible academic profile.

    The participants were able to solve the challenge on the discussed topics above. It is observed that participants improved on solving challenges session-by-session.     IESA Pune Chapter Meet, JW Mariott Pune

    Prof. Nirmol Munvar attended the IESA Pune Chapter Meet at J. W. Mariott Pune on July 15 2024. Important things like how semiconductor will influence upcoming project naina, hardware security in vlsi and usage of vlsi for defence applications were discussed. Also light was shed on future project of semiconductor in maharashtra.

    HoD (Prof. Nibha Desai) of the Department of Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design and Technology) is thrilled to witness the Ground Breaking Ceremony of India’s first Semiconductor fabrication Lab by Shri Narendra Modi at Dholera on 13/03/2024.

     

    Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “AI Evolution: From Foundations to Generative AI” – January 2024

    The 6-Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “AI Evolution: From Foundations to Generative AI” was a resounding success, organized by IETE-SAKEC, IETE CoE, and TechSaksham (TSP) in collaboration with Edunet Foundation. Supported by TechSaksham (TSP), a joint CSR initiative of Microsoft and SAP, and implemented by Edunet Foundation, this program aimed to enhance technical capacities and foster skill development among faculty members. The comprehensive program covered various AI topics, starting with foundational concepts and progressing to advanced models, with hands-on sessions and expert talks. Dr. T. P. Vinutha, HoD, Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, welcomed participants.

    The FDP’s structure ensured a gradual learning curve, covering AI basics, machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, NLP, and Generative AI. Notable sessions included exploring advanced deep learning models and a detailed study on ANN, CNN, RNN, LSTM, NLP, and Generative AI by expert speakers like Mr. Ramar and Mr. Mayank. The international perspective was provided by esteemed speakers Dr. Sanjan T.P. Gupta from Corporate Research Labs, USA, and Mr. Prateek Verma from Stanford University, USA, who delved into applications in healthcare and multimodal Generative AI, respectively.

    The program’s success was evident through participant feedback, assessments conducted via the Learning Management System (LMS), and the distribution of certificates, marking a significant contribution to faculty development in Artificial Intelligence. The program concluded with the address of Dr. Bhavesh Patel, Principal, Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, Mumbai. In the concluding vote of thanks, thanks were extended to participants, speakers, and sponsors by Mr. Rohan Borgalli, the coordinator. The collaboration with TechSaksham, Microsoft, and SAP, as well as the inclusion of international speakers, enriched the FDP, providing a well-rounded exploration of AI concepts and applications. A total of 144 participants from various colleges in India participated in the faculty development program.

      

    Linux Server Administration

    Department of Electronics and Computer Science and Department of Computer Engineering, SAKEC successfully organized an ISTE Approved One-week STTP on “LINUX SERVER ADMINISTRATION” from 2nd January to 7th January 2023. The program was inaugurated by renowned chief guests Dr. Sangeeta Joshi from Mumbai University. The keynote session was delivered by Mr. Ramesh Kharat founder of Prior Web Technologies.
    This STTP was open to all students, Professors and Professionals. The STTP was attended by 66 participants. This STTP included lecture and Hands on sessions by esteemed speakers from Industry. The core of this STTP was to get skilled in Linux Administration and to build in-depth knowledge related to various fields of the Linux administration.
    The STTP was coordinated by Ms. Shilpa Kalantri, Assistant Professor, Computer Engineering Department and Ms. Anita Nalavade, Assistant Professor of Electronics & Computer Science Department.
    On the primary day of the STTP i.e., 2nd January 2023, the session was conducted by Ms. Suhasini Shere assisted by Mr. Megh Agarwal (Industry expert). The session started with Introduction about Linux, its features, and Types of Operating System & overview of IT Infrastructure components and applications of Linux followed by Hands on training session. Session also covered how to set up Operating System Environment. Live project examples and training had shared by the resource person.
    On the second day of the STTP i.e., 3rd January 2023, the session covered how to assign permissions in Linux, what are Read, Write and Execute commands. How to assign ownership with help of commands. The resource person also gave demo on Access Control List, how to assign special Permissions in Linux followed by Compression and Decompression techniques, how to create Users, how to create Groups and assign its parameters.
    On the third day of the STTP i.e., 4th January 2023, session started with user management in Linux. Set, edit, and delete new permissions was discussed and executed. Commands for special permission to the user and setting restriction by the root user itself is taken with hands on session. Connecting VM to the public network and installation of library from public network was discussed and executed. The resource person also give demo on advance user management followed by bottle neck command and tune profile discussion with the hands-on session.
    On the fourth day of the STTP i.e., 5th January 2023, session started with Advance user management in Linux. Commands for Changing owner of a file, sudo authentication etc. was discussed and executed with hands-on session. Basic Linux networking is discussed with examples. The resource person covered network configuration in Linux, various Linux networking commands is discussed with practical examples and hands-on session. Basics of Process management is discussed and executed.
    On the fifth day of the STTP i.e., 6th January 2023, trainer covered various topics such as DAEMON, process Management and YUM repositories Linux. The resource person covered Hard Disk Geometry and Hard Disk Partitioning with practical examples and hands-on session.
    On the sixth day of the STTP i.e., 7th January 2023, trainer covered various topics such as Containerization and Managing Containers using Podman container Engg. In Linux. Live project examples and training had shared by the resource person. The session was ended with Quiz.
    Both the resource persons responded to all the queries patiently! Overall, the session was very interactive!! Everyday session was ended with questions and answers and feedback of participants.

    STTP on Digital forensics


    Computer Engineering Department of Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College in association with IIC 5, has organized a 3 Days Short Term Training Program on Digital Forensics from 8th February 2023 to 10th February 2023. This Training program is aligned with the Departmental Optional course -CSL8022:Digital Forensics Lab of Mumbai University syllabus (Rev – 2019 ‘C’scheme). STTP has covered – Hands-on Training on Tools like FTK Imager, Autopsy, Network Miner etc, Kali Linux tools used for the acquisition and analysis of digital evidence , Web Browser Forensics, Email analysis, Volume Forensics, and Data Carving and training on Burpsuite and Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing Tools

    This STTP was open to all students, Professors, and Professionals. The STTP was attended by 58 participants. Hands-on sessions were conducted by Dr. Vidyullata Devmane, Associate Professor and Vaishali Hirlekar, Assistant professor from Computer Engineering College. The core of this STTP was to get skilled in tools and techniques required to perform digital investigations using groundbreaking digital forensics technologies.

    STTP on Blockchain Technology and its Application’s

    Blockchain Technology is an emerging technology suitable for decentralised and transactional sharing of data across a large network of untrusted participants. It is an innovative distributed ledger technology where verification data for the transactional records is cryptographically secured against tampering and stored in blocks. This technology is successfully used in Bitcoin virtual currency and it also has good potential in non-financial sectors such as Governance, healthcare, cyber security, automobiles, media, travel,hospitality, energy, smart cities, time stamping, logging of important events in a system,recording transactions, etc.

    Considering the growing importance of Blockchain Technologies and its potential in different sectors, Computer Engineering Department of SAKEC has organized ISTE Approved One week Short Term Training Program on Blockchain Technology and Its Applications from 11th July 2022 to 16th July 2022 for Faculty, Research scholars, Industry person & Students.

    Mr. Vikash Kumar, Corporate Expert in Blockchain had conducted Introduction on blockchain, Decentralized System & Distributed Ledger Technology and discussed Real Time Use Cases in Blockchain during the session. Mr. Debrup Chatterjee Corporate Expert- Blockchain had given hands-on demo with Hash, Merkle Tree and P2P transaction in Blockchain. He also discussed Smart Contracts in Blockchain, various use cases of Smart Contracts and also conducted demo of Smart Contracts. Mr. Soham Zemse, Corporate
    Expert- Blockchain had given hands on demo on solidity Programming. At the end of the Technical Session Mr. Vikash Kumar had discussed different case studies in Blockchain.
    Throughout the STTP, participants got deep insights into several aspects of Block chain Technology.This workshop is intended to provide opportunities for educationalist, researchers,professionals and students to upgrade their knowledge in the area of Blockchain Technology.

    STTP on Linux Server Administration.

    Department of Electronics and Computer Science and Department of Computer Engineering, SAKEC
    successfully organized an ISTE Approved One-week STTP on “LINUX SERVER ADMINISTRATION” from 2nd January to 7th January 2023.

    The program was inaugurated by renowned chief guest Dr. Sangeeta Joshi from Mumbai University. The keynote session was delivered by Mr. Ramesh Kharat, founder of Prior Web Technologies.

    This STTP was open to all students, Professors and Professionals. The STTP was attended by 67 participants. This STTP included Hands-on sessions by esteemed speakers from Industry. The core of this STTP was to get skilled in Linux Administration and to build in-depth knowledge related to various fields of the Linux administration.

    The session started with Introduction about Linux, its features, and Types of Operating System & overviews of IT Infrastructure components and applications of Linux followed by Hands on training session. Session also covered how to set up Operating System Environment. Live project examples and training was shared by the resource person.

    Overall, the session was very interactive. Everyday sessions ended with questions and answers and feedback of participants.

    Natural Language Processing – Novice to Pro

    Computer Engineering Department of SAKEC successfully organized an AICTE-ISTE approved one week STTP on “Natural Language Processing – Novice to Pro” from 2 nd to 8 th January 2020. The program also included course orientation on behalf of Mumbai University on the last day. The keynote was delivered by Dr. Biplab Bannerjeee (Faculty, IITBombay).
    The sessions were conducted by eminent speakers from premier organizations like IITBombay (Dr.Ramkumar Rajendran, Mr. Girish Ponkiya and Ms Manasi Kulkarni), CDAC (Mr. Prakash Pimpale), Mumbai University (Dr. Sharvari Govilkar) and Industry (Dr. Jayanti Gokhale, Mr.Vikash Kumar, Mr. Basant Joshi) who had an expertise and experience of working in core NLP area. The workshop covered all concepts from basics to advance applications in NLP supported by hands-on training in Python and relevant NLP tools.     Technical Content Writing and Copyright

    Computer Engineering Department of SAKEC successfully organized an ISTE Approved one week STTP on “Technical Content Writing and Copyright” from 28/06/2021 to 03/07/2021 with Aspire Research Foundation, PUNE. In the program 35 participants have registered and been involved in the writing technical contents and copyright procedure as guided by eminent speakers. All participants have submitted their papers to the experts for feedback. It is observed that participants were able to improve on abstract, introduction, literature review, result and analysis, and conclusion sections of the papers.
    The participants were able to write papers using the LaTex tool and understood the step by step procedure for Copyright registration.

    This will in turn help faculty members to guide the students doing projects and research work in a systematic way. The participants were experienced teachers and students from various colleges. As a outcome of the program, the Computer Engineering Department of SAKEC have registered 23 literature work successfully.

    Advanced VLSI Design and Applications with hands-on in CADENCE toolset – June 2018

    Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, SAKEC successfully organized an IETE Approved One week STTP on “Advanced VLSI Design and Applications with hands-on in CADENCE toolset” in association with Entuple Technologies from 25th June to 30th June 2018. The Program was inaugurated by Chief Guest and Keynote speaker Dr. V. B. Chandratre, S/O H+, BARC. This STTP included lecture sessions by esteemed speakers from academics and Industry. The core of this STTP was the 3 day Hands-on session on CADENCE tools which was conducted by Entuple Technologies. The hands-on sessions were focused on Custom IC design and ASIC design. The STTP was attended by 47 participants which included faculties and students from various colleges.The STTP was coordinated by Mr. Shridhar R. Sahu, Assistant Professor, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Department.

    STTP on Cyber Security Tools and Techniques

    Information Technology Department has organized One Week STTP on “Cyber Security Tools and Techniques” on 5th December to 10th December 2016. Objective of the Short Term Training Programme was to understand the various threats and vulnerability in Networking and how to secure, To learn about various methods and tools for cyber security and to demonstrate the tools & Techniques for Digital Forensic Analysis. The Key note address Speaker Dr. Deven Shah, TCET , Mumbai gave an overall idea about the Cyber Security Tools & Techniques. Excellent lecture sessions were taken by experts from various institutes and organizations. Hands on session on various open Source tools are conducted which helps faculties to conduct practical and the students to do research in a cyber security & Digital Forensic while pursuing M.E./M.TECH or Ph.D.

    Web Technologies – New Trends

    Computer Engineering Department of the Institute organised AICTE-ISTE Approved and Sponsored STTP, “Web Technologies – New Trends” from 02/07/2018 to 07/07/2018. The program received the overwhelming response from several states of the country. From 150 registered candidates 40 for sponsored seats and 16 candidates for non-sponsored seats were selected to attend the program. The program was inaugurated by renowned author Mr. Achyut Godbole, who also delivered the keynote address. Mr. Achyut Godbole’s keynote speech was a great attraction for the Engineers. The excitement to hear him was so much that the separate registration had to be started for those who wanted to come only for speech. Professors from different engineering colleges of Mumbai and professionals working in different software industries came to attend his lecture. Eminent speakers, Mr. Jayanthi Gokhale, Prof. Bhushan Jadhav, Mr. Nilesh Vidhate and Mr. Anil Patil from reputed Software Companies and Engineering Institutes conducted the hands-on sessions on HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript, jQuery, MongoDB, XML, Laravel and Ajax.

    Department of Electronics and Computer Science organized “AICTE- ISTE Approved Refresher/Induction Programme on AI & ML in Electronics”, from Jan6 – Jan12 2022. It was fully sponsored and free of Cost. The Programme was coordinated by Prof. Asha Durafe and Prof. Manisha Mane. The convener was Dr. Subha Subramaniam, HOD ECS.
    The inauguration ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Dr. Pratapsinh Desai, President of ISTE.
    The keynote address on All about AI and ML was delivered by Dr. Amit Sethi from IIT Bombay.
    Many sessions were conducted by eminent speakers like Dr. Sumathi G, Dr. Neeraj Kumar, Dr. Manesh Kokare, Dr. Kuppili, Dr. Rekha Ramesh, Dr. Smriti Bhandari, Prof. Anjum Mujawar, Prof. P. G. Khedkar, Mr. Arun Iyyer, Mr. Avinash, Ms. Preeti S and Mr. Narendra.
    Hands on session was conducted on 10/1/2022 by Dr. Suhas Sapate. Dr. Kamal Shah conducted a session on the importance of National Education Policy and Mr. Ashish Parekh and Ms. Radhika Koppikar conducted a session on Art of Living.
    The valedictory ceremony was held at 4:00pm on 12/1/2022, and the Chief Guest was Prof. Vijay Vaidya, Executive Secretary of ISTE.
    The participants spoke highly of the programme and the team’s work was appreciated. All participants gained a lot of knowledge from the Induction Programme.

    STTP July 2017

    Department of Electronics Engineering successfully conducted AICTE-ISTE approved STTP on “Advanced Embedded and Real Time Application Design” from 3rdJuly 2017 to 8th July 2017. Eminent speakers like Dr. P.C. Pande from IIT Mumbai and other engineering colleges contributed to the event. Industry experts like Dr. Kushal Tuckle and Mr. Jayanthi Gokhle shared their practical knowledge with the participants. Participants enjoyed hands-on sessions on RTOS and embedded C programming.

    Department of Electronics Engineering has organized an AICTE ISTE approved STTP on “Pedagogy for Effective Integration of Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) in Engineering Education” from 3rd May to 8th May 2018. This STTP was designed by the Educational Technology Department of IIT- Bombay. This course provided an insight and hands on experience to Engineering faculty in implementing student-centered integration of ICT for effective learning.
