The Department of Electronics and Computer Science, Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College (SAKEC), Mumbai, in association with the EICTA Consortium, IIT Kanpur, successfully organized the Joint Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Prompt Engineering for Educators” from 19th June to 30th June 2026.

This online FDP brought together faculty members, researchers, academicians, and industry professionals from across the country to explore how Generative AI and Prompt Engineering are transforming teaching, learning, research, and curriculum development.

The program featured expert-led sessions on:
Evolution of AI and Large Language Models
Effective and Advanced Prompt Engineering Techniques
AI Applications in Programming, Electronics, VLSI & IoT
Literature Review, Summarization & Research Paper Writing
Grant Proposal Writing and AI-assisted Research
AI-powered Lesson Planning, Assessment & Curriculum Design
AI Ethics, Bias, Hallucinations & Academic Integrity
AI Tools for Educators and Capstone Project Presentations

The FDP also featured a session on “Literature Review, Summarization & Paper Writing” by Dr. Manisha Mane, FDP Coordinator, providing participants with practical insights into leveraging AI for research, academic writing, and scholarly communication.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the EICTA Consortium, IIT Kanpur, all the distinguished resource persons, participants, and the organizing team for their invaluable contributions in making this Faculty Development Program a grand success.

A 6 Days Faculty Development Program (FDP) on IDEAFORGE LAB: Imagine.Design. Prototype was conducted from 1st to 6th June 2026 in collaboration with SAKEC IDEA lab. Total 38 staff from various other institutes participated in the FDP.

The program was specially designed for Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff to provide hands-on exposure to emerging technologies and advanced prototyping facilities available in the IDEA Lab. The FDP focused on developing practical skills in Arduino Development, Robotics, App Designing, IoT and Smart Systems, Laser Cutting, and 3D Printing. Through interactive sessions and practical demonstrations, participants gained valuable insights into innovation, product development, and rapid prototyping technologies.

Mr. Santosh Kamble and Ms. Manjusha Kulkarni were the trainers for the FDP.

A Skill Development Program on Drone Technology and Drone Simulation was conducted for ECS Faculty and students by Industry Expert Mr. Kunal Khandelwal, Sr. Application Engineer – MathWorks, DesignTech Systems Pvt. Ltd. on 24/01/2026  and 6/2/2026.

The program aimed to provide faculty and students with fundamental knowledge of drone systems, their components, working principles, applications, and simulation techniques. Participants were introduced to various types of drones, flight control mechanisms, sensors, communication systems, and safety regulations. The program enhanced participants’ technical skills and practical understanding of emerging drone technologies, preparing them for future opportunities in unmanned aerial systems, automation, surveillance, agriculture, mapping, and related fields.

The program received active participation from the faculty and students and contributed significantly to their skill enhancement in the rapidly growing field of drone technology.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Nandkishor Narkhede and Ms. Rupali Patil.

Department of Electronics and Computer Science, in association with the SAKEC AICTE IDEA Lab, organized a two-week Boot-camp titled “Faculty Development Program – IDEAtrnoics: Bridging Innovation and Electronics.” during 15th December 2025 to 27th December 2025.
The objective of the program was to provide faculty members with hands-on training and awareness of emerging technologies, embedded systems, automation, PCB designing, and digital manufacturing tools.

The boot-camp emphasized practical learning, DIY methodologies, rapid prototyping, and product-based development, enabling participants to effectively utilize IDEA Lab facilities for teaching, innovation, and project guidance. Total 25 faculties from various colleges participated in the FDP.

IPDCC in collaboration with ECS Department offered 4-week internship /skill development program on IoT-based Product Development, from June 3rd to June 29th, 2024 in Lab 209 from 10:15 AM to 2:00 PM. Prof. Santosh Kamble, Prof. Manjusha Kulkarni and Prof. Anita Nalawade were the speakers for this event.
During the 4-week internship in IoT product development, students and staff focused on using Arduino Nano, ESP32, and ESP32-CAM microcontrollers along with 3D printing technology. They gained hands-on experience in integrating sensors and actuators, developing embedded software, and transmitting data to cloud platforms. They successfully completed a project involving a smart device with real-time data visualization. This experience enhanced students’ development skills in IoT hardware, software development, and prototyping using 3D printing.
The project was presented at the exhibition on 6 th July, where it was evaluated by Prof. Sarode.

The Faculty Development Program on ‘Building AI applications for Electronics-Based Systems’ from 27-2-2025  to 5-3-2025 was organized by the Electronics and Computer Science Department.

28 faculty members and students attended this FDP.

Esteemed industry speakers, Mr. Kunal Khandelwal (Application Engineer – MathWorks DesignTech Systems Pvt. Ltd.) and Mr. Nitin Kukreja (Data Scientist | Generative AI | LLMs | Machine Learning | Deep Learning | Fraud Detection at National Payments Corporation Of India (NPCI) ) had been invited for this FDP.

Mr Kunal Khandelwal delivered a talk on building AI applications using MATLAB, and Mr. Nitin Kukreja elaborated on generative AI applications. Dr. Subha Subramaniam (HOD Electronics and Computer Science) delivered a talk on the use of AI in Research.

The Department of Electronics & Computer Science of Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College in association with AICTE- Training and Learning(ATAL) Academy organized a 6 Days online Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Deep Learning & its Applications” From 16th Dec to 21st Dec, 2024

FDP is conducted in 22 hours of teaching in thirteen equal sessions by Renowned resource faculties from reputed industry/corporate/research laboratories.

Atal FDP on Deep Learning and Applications Started with a Welcome address from HOD of Electronics & Computer Science Department, Dr. Subha Subramaniam.

Dr. Saroj K. Biswas, Professor at NIT Silchar  Enlighted on basics of machine Learning and deep learning concept in Neural Network.

The session is ended with Q and A, where participants took the opportunity to have a conversation with the speaker.

The second session of day 1 started with Dr. Venkantanareshbabu K., Assistant Professor,NIT Goa. Sir has an enlightened mathematical concept of Deep Learning neural network.

Day 2 started with Research area of Deep Learning  by Mr.Daniel Ma, VP of Research, Development, & Engineering Science | Co-Founder, followed by a session from Dr. Neeraj Kumar Professor, Thapar University on IoT and Deep Learning.

Day 3 started with the thrust area of cyber security where  Dr. Rajani Mangala , Professor, Vivekanand Institute of Technology, Mumbai , highlighted the effectiveness of Deep learning in Cyber Security.

Ms. Sujitha Kurup , co-founder of Inovays Demystified 3D Deep learning concept very effectively.

Day 4 started with a Case study in Deep Learning by our expert Ms.Priti Satyanaik, Director at PwC, Bengaluru which is followed by Expert Mr. Subrata Mandal, Sr. manager, PwC

Sentiment Analysis using Deep Learning delivered by expert Dr. Kranti Ghag, Associate professor, D.J Sanghvi College of Engineering, Mumbai in very effective manner

Dr. Smriti Bhandari HoD, CSE, ADCET, Sangli covered Deep learning in Computer vision

Mr. Yash Narendra ,Applied ML Engineer, Microsoft has delivered a session on  Deep Learning and Applications

Dr. Suhas Sapate, Principal, Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe Institute of Engineering & Technology . Kolhapur. Deliberate Case study of DL applications in Robotics .

Deep Learning for Health care was delivered by  Dr. Sanjan Gupta ML scientist and coach,  Topmate.io.
Dr. Asha Durafe and Ms. Manisha Mane conducted this successful ATAL FDP event under the guidance of convenor Dr. Subha Subramaniam.

A total 300+ participants are benefited from this event.

The Department of Electronics and Computer Science SAKEC organized a Workshop on MATLAB titled “Hardware integration with MATLAB and Simulink for AI application” on 31^st August 2024 for all teaching Faculty of SAKEC. The Workshop is conducted successfully under the guidance and support of our Principal Dr. Bhavesh Patel and Hod ECS Dr. Subha Subramaniam.

Department of Electronics and Computer Science, successfully conducted Online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on ‘’Deep learning and Hardware Integration with MATLAB’’ from 8th to 10th May 2023(10:30am to 5:00 pm). Prof.Jayashri Gajare and Prof.Bhumika Tarate coordinated  this event under the Guidance of Convenor and Head of the department Dr. Subha Subramaniam.
For this event ,we invited Mr.Kunal Khandelwal, Application Engineer- Mathworks at Design Tech System Pvt Ltd. We got good responses from other colleges as 45 participants from different colleges and branches enrolled and completed this program, with very helpful Hands-on sessions conducted by our speaker.
During this Faculty development program following topics were included: Hardware Integration with MATLAB, Machine Learning using MATLAB, Machine Learning onramp, Deep Learning Using MATLAB and Deep Learning onramp.

Department of Electronics and Computer Science and Department of Computer Engineering, SAKEC
successfully organized an ISTE Approved One-week STTP on “LINUX SERVER ADMINISTRATION” from 2nd January to 7th January 2023.

The program was inaugurated by renowned chief guest Dr. Sangeeta Joshi from Mumbai University. The keynote session was delivered by Mr. Ramesh Kharat, founder of Prior Web Technologies.

This STTP was open to all students, Professors and Professionals. The STTP was attended by 67 participants. This STTP included Hands-on sessions by esteemed speakers from Industry. The core of this STTP was to get skilled in Linux Administration and to build in-depth knowledge related to various fields of the Linux administration.

The session started with Introduction about Linux, its features, and Types of Operating System & overviews of IT Infrastructure components and applications of Linux followed by Hands on training session. Session also covered how to set up Operating System Environment. Live project examples and training was shared by the resource person.

Overall, the session was very interactive. Everyday sessions ended with questions and answers and feedback of participants.

Department of Electronics & Computer Science , Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, in association with EICT IIT Kanpur, successfully conducted Online Live Faculty Development Program & Student Development Program on Data Science – ML & AI. The Program was conducted online from 20 th June 2022 to 24 th June 2022 ,3:00pm to 5:00pm. Prof. Pooja Polshetwar & Prof.Nirmol Munvar has Co-ordinated this event under the Guidance of SPOC, Co-Ordinator Prof. Anita Nalawade and Convenor & Head of Electronics & Computer Science Dr. Subha Subramaniam.
