One Week Internship in Python Programming- December 2022

The Department of Electronics and Computer Science, organized one week offline Internship on
Python from 20 December to 26 December 2022. As an extension of this internship a project
exhibition and Competition conducted on 28 December 2022. This Internship was coordinated by
Prof. Pooja Polshetwar and Prof. Nirmol Munvar, from Electronics and Computer Science
department, at Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College. The internship was conducted entirely
offline and everything was Hands on learning. In this, internship students learned python from
scratch to project development, giving good exposure on Real World Problems. Prof. Vidya Gogate
and Prof. Atul Kachre Evaluated Student’s projects and declared Three winners. This internship was
organized under the guidance of HOD. Dr. Subha Subramaniam.

International Joint Internship training program on AI and Machine Learning for Urban Development and management

Organizers: The event was organized by Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College and Department of Architecture (DiARC) the University of Naples "Federico II" Naples, Italy.

Objective: The primary objective of the event was to provide a platform for students and researchers to explore and apply AI and Machine Learning techniques to address challenges in urban development.

Participants: 60 Students (10 Project groups) of various Departments participated in this internship.

Keynote Speakers: The event featured renowned experts in the field of AI and urbandevelopment who delivered inspiring keynote speeches.

Panel Discussions: Expert panels discussed the current challenges and future prospects of AI and ML in urban development.

Workshops: Several hands-on workshops were conducted, focusing on practical applications of AI and ML in urban planning, transportation, sustainability, and more. Internship Opportunities: Students had the opportunity to connect with international

Networking: The event provided a platform for participants to network with professionals, academicians, and potential employers.

Outcomes:
 Enhanced understanding of AI and ML applications in urban development. Promotion of international collaborations among students and institutions.
 Opportunities for students to gain real-world experience through internships.
 Knowledge sharing and exposure to the latest trends in AI-ML for urban development.

Mini Project/Major project Guidance for Hardware And Software Platform August 2022

The Department organized a session “Mini Project Guidance for Hardware And Software Platform”, on 20 th August 2022 at 10.30 am, for students of second year and third year. Total 80 students attended the session. Venue for this session was 7th floor Drawing Hall.
This session was organised for guiding the students for proper selection of project problem statement, which will give more reliable solutions to real life problems or societal problems. The main aim was to encourage students to do more hardware/software projects which will help them to develop practical skill set.
Keynote address was given by Principal, Dr. Bhavesh Patel in which the importance of project was highlighted.
The session was conducted by experts from the industry, Mr. Ronak Parikh and Mr. Hemant Shah from Techinfinity. They guided students about importance of practical as well as project knowledge. They interacted with the students by sharing their experience of handling industry projects as well as in start-ups. Various aspects related to proper selection of components, microcontroller for projects were discussed. Importance of selecting real life projects was demonstrated by giving example of auto collection of fine by traffic police.

Department of Electronics and Computer Science successfully organized a Technical Session on “C Programming for Data Structures” on 10th August 2022. Prof. Nirmol Munvar Explained the Concept of Arrays and their usage in Data Structures and Stack Implementation using Arrays. Prof. Pooja Polshetwar introduced the fundamental concept of pointers and their Application in Data Structures. Prof. Pooja Polshetwar and Prof. Nirmol Munvar coordinated this event under the guidance of Convenor Dr.Subha Subramaniam, HOD, Electronics and Computer Science department.

Five week OFFLINE Internship on ‘IoT Hardware, Software, and Applications’ June 2022

Department of Electronics and Computer Science, organized a five-week OFFLINE Internship on “IoT Hardware, Software, and Applications” from 06th June 2022 to 11th July 2022.This five-week Internship was conducted and coordinated by Prof. Santosh Kamble and Prof. Anita Nalawade, from Electronics and Computer Science department, Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College. The internship was conducted completely OFFLINE. In this, internship students learned about different IoT boards, thing speak cloud, firebase and Rpi. The competition was organized for encouraging innovative ideas of students, preparing students for industrial environment, giving good exposure on emerging IoT technology. The judge from IT department Prof.Smita Bansod assessed the projects and declared two winners Ms.Madhavi More and Mr. Jash Shah. This internship was organized under guidance of Hod. Dr. Subha Subramanian.

“Visit to Nanofabrication facility, IITB” Sept. 2022

Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering in association with IETE-SAKEC organized a visit to Nanofabrication facility, IITB on Saturday, 24/9/2022 for TE and BE EXTC students. This visit was carried out for students to make them aware of different Fabrication processes involved in VLSI Design and the facilities available at IITB.
45 students with two faculty members Mr. Shridhar Sahu and Mrs. Gauri Chavan visited the facility which consisted of clean rooms, lithography equipment, sputtering process, molecular beam epitaxy and many more.

Evaluation Process Phase 1 – Ideathon and POC Submission: The participants need to register themselves either as a team of maximum three individuals or as a single members. During registration the participants need to give a one paragraph (not more than 200 words) description of their proposed solution along with a detailed PowerPoint presentation (not more than 10 slides) against the selected problem statement. The participants can also include videos, images and screenshots in the presentation.
Phase 2 – Shortlisting: Post the closure of registrations, the evaluation committee will shortlist top 30 entries for the next round.

Phase 3 – Grand Finale (Presentation Round):The Grand Finale will be hosted as a presentation round. The shortlisted participants need to present their ideas to the jury in the form of presentation, videos and prototype. The presentation round will be of 15 minutes with 10 minutes of presentation and 5 minutes of Q&A.

5) The Poster can be Hand-drawn or use of any Software such as Photoshop, Gimp, Illustrator, etc is allowed.

Test-Driven Development using Java

CSI-SAKEC in collaboration with Department of Computer Engineering organized a 1-day INTERNATIONAL webinar for learners on “Test-Driven Development using Java” on 8th August, 2020. Mr. Suresh Gupta, a certified AWS Cloud Solutions Architect, conducted the event. Topics such as: Introduction to TDD, Junit framework, and TDD cycles were covered, and a hands-on demo pertaining to writing a piece of code with all different test cases was given by the speaker. Participant count exceeded 90, with participants from all over India. We proudly announce that the workshop received a positive feedback from the participants and they exhibited a keen interest in being a part of the future ventures undertaken by CSI-SAKEC.

“Chatbot- Build Intelligent Virtual Assistant ”

CSI-SAKEC in collaboration with Department of Computer Engineering organized a 1-day online workshop for learners on “Chatbot- Build Intelligent Virtual Assistant ” on 1st August, 2020. Mr. Ali Mustafa Shaikh, INTEL Software Innovator, and Google certified Educator, conducted the event. Topics covered were: Basics of Chatbot, Business use-cases of chatbots, developing chatbots using minimal code and tools available, and hands-on demo on how to build a chatbot. Participant count exceeded 200, with participants from all over India. We are happy to announce that the workshop received great positive feedback from the participants and they are keen to be a part of the future ventures undertaken by CSI-SAKEC.

Gateway to GATE 2021 – Tips And Tricks

CSI-SAKEC in collaboration with Department of Computer Engineering organized an online session on “Gateway to GATE 2021 – Tips And Tricks” on 1st February, 2021. Mr. Prakash Parmar conducted the event. Sir gave simple tips and tricks to crack GATE 2021. He even encouraged students with his motivational words . Tableau – Interactive Data Visualization Software

CSI-SAKEC in collaboration with Department of Computer Engineering organized a 5-day online workshop for learners on “Tableau – Interactive Data Visualization Software ” on 5th February 2021 to 9th February 2021. The event was conducted by Tableau Student Ambassadors itself. Topics covered were: Introduction to Tableau Software , Basic Concepts of Tableau were explained, Hands-On Demo on Tableau Software. Participant count exceeded 100+, with participants from all over India. Cross-platform application development with Flutter & Dart

CSI-SAKEC in collaboration with Department of Computer Engineering organized a 3-day online workshop for learners on “Cross-platform application development with Flutter & Dart” on 26th February 2021 to 28th February 2021. The event was conducted by Mr. Shubham Darekar. Topics covered were:Introduction to android studio and flutter, Basic Concepts of Flutter and dart were explained, Hands-On Demo on Android Studio software . Participant count exceeded 40+, with participants from all over India. Overseas Education Information Series

Computer Engineering Department in association with Training and Placement Cell, CSI-SAKEC and IETE-SAKEC had successfully conducted Overseas Education Information Series – (5th April To 8th April) with esteemed universities from US, UK, Ireland and Australia. On the first day of Overseas Education Information Series, esteemed international speaker Ms. Shivani Bhalla from the Brunel University, London has discussed various specialized programs offered by the University and the prerequisites for the same. She had also discussed the queries regarding the application, scholarship, eligibility, internship, placement, and the degree in University during this pandemic situation. On the second day of the Overseas Education Information Series i.e 6th April 2021, Ms. Pinky Desai, a motivator and an exceptional speaker representing Monash University, Australia, very candidly discussed various specialized programs offered by the University and the prerequisites for the same. She also addressed the queries of attendees regarding the applications, scholarships eligibility, internship, placement, on/off campus part – time jobs during this pandemic situation. On the third day of Overseas Education Information Series i.e 7th April 2021, our Esteemed international speaker Prof. Derek Molloy, Dr. Conor McArdle, Mr. Colum Cronin from Dublin City University, Ireland has discussed various specialized programs offered by the Dublin City University and the prerequisites for the same. They also very candidly answered the queries regarding the application, scholarship opportunities, accommodation, eligibility, internship, placement, on/off campus part time jobs and the degree in University during this pandemic situation. On the last day of Overseas Education Information Series i.e. 8th April 2021, our Esteemed speaker Mr. Sudipta Roy , who is a regional recruitment manager, USA has discussed various specialized programs offered by the Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey and University of Maryland, Baltimore County in USA and the prerequisites for the same. He had also discussed the queries in a very detail mannered regarding the application, scholarship, eligibility, on / off campus job opportunities, internship, placement, and the degree in the institute during this pandemic situation. Ms. Mrunali Kulkarni, from Vision International, coordinated and supported the successful conduction of the event.

Develop Recommendation Engine using Python – Understand Techniques and Algorithm

CSI-SAKEC in collaboration with AI Probably and Computer Engineering Department organized an online session on “Develop Recommendation Engine using Python – Understand Techniques and Algorithm” on 18th April 2021. The event was conducted by Mr. Parth Sharma, Chief Data Scientist, Jasper Colin Research. Topics covered were: Implementing various recommendation system algorithms in python, Understand and Implement different types of RE such as Collaborative filtering, Content-based filtering, etc, Create a recommendation system for a set of industry examples for applicability, Develop deeper understanding in recommendation systems and their User cases Participants were from different colleges from all over India. Session received great positive feedback from the participants and they showed keen interest for future ventures undertaken by CSI-SAKEC.

CODE OF DUTY: SEASON 1

CSI-SAKEC in collaboration with Department of Computer Engineering organized a coding contest – “CODE OF DUTY: SEASON 1” on July 24, 2021.Competition was held on hacker rank platform. Participants (of every difficulty level) were given 1 hour and 30 minutes to solve the three problem statements.
