The Department of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS), SAKEC, in collaboration with the IEI SAKEC Student Chapter, successfully organized an Industry Expert Session on “Linux Skill-Based Lab – Industry Perspectives” on 24th September 2025.

The session was conducted by Mr. Nikhil Gaikwad, from XL Dynamics India pvt Ltd. who shared valuable insights on Linux fundamentals, practical command-line usage, and industry applications, giving students hands-on exposure to essential tools and techniques.

Students gained a deeper understanding of how Linux skills are applied in real-world industry scenarios, helping them strengthen both their technical knowledge and employability. The interactive discussions and live demonstrations made the session engaging and highly impactful.

Industry Expert talk for second year and third year students- January 2025

Department of Electronics & Computer Science organized an Industry Expert talk for second year and third year students on 17th January 2025 during 2pm to 3:30pm. The speaker, Mr. Pravin Jogdand, Industry Expert from SemTech, Pune gave valuable insights into the transformative role of embedded systems in the AI era. Dr. Asha Durafe from the Department of Electronics & Computer Science coordinated the event.

Key Highlights of the Lecture:

  1. Introduction to Embedded Systems and AI: The session began with an overview of embedded systems and their integration into modern technology.
  1. Applications and Use Cases: Real-world examples were presented, including AI-powered IoT devices, autonomous vehicles, smart appliances, and industrial automation.
  1. Technological Challenges and Opportunities: Challenges such as hardware constraints, energy efficiency, and real-time processing were discussed.
  1. Future Trends: The talk explored emerging trends, such as edge computing, neuromorphic chips, and the role of AI in improving security and scalability in embedded systems. The Departments of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, in collaboration with IETE-SAKEC, proudly organized TechFusion 2025: Telecom, IDEA Lab & AI Insights on 7th August 2025 at Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, Chembur.

Over 110 First-Year students and 8 faculty members from St. Xavier’s Technical Institute, Mahim joined us for an immersive afternoon of learning and exploration.

A special thanks to the speaker: Mr. Rahul Kathuria , Dev Advocate at Sui Foundation, for his engaging and visionary sessions that helped students build smart contracts, explore zkLogin, and understand the developer ecosystem on SUI. Statathon-2025

The National Statistical Office (NSO), India, in collaboration with the Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Education (MoE), has launched a Grand Challenge titled “Statathon – A Data Journey Towards Viksit Bharat”. The Grand Challenge is a national-level competition designed to harness emerging technologies and innovative solutions to transform the landscape of official statistics in India. Organised under the aegis of MoSPI’s Data Innovation Lab (DI Lab) initiative, the Statathon marks an important milestone in the commemoration of 75 years of the National Sample Survey (NSS). The challenge invites participation to address five problem statements, each covering different phases of the data lifecycle: collection, processing & analysis, and dissemination. Through this initiative, NSO aims to explore the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other frontier technologies to enhance the efficiency, quality, and accessibility of statistical data systems.

Grand Challenges are opportunities for students and startups to contribute to problem-solving across sectors by participating and providing new ideas, and developing new solutions to the problems posed. This platform gives direct access to different ministries and corporations to practice open innovation and get access to the best talent available in the country. At the same time, it offers an opportunity for experiential learning and nurturing innovations to students across academia in India.

“CybraneX Centre of Excellence Quantum Computing Lab”- July 2025

The CybraneX Centre of Excellence Quantum Computing Lab was inaugurated on 4th July 2025 at the Department of Electronics & Computer Science, SAKEC with great enthusiasm and spirit, symbolizing a significant leap toward future-focused education and research in cutting-edge technologies. The event was organized in collaboration with CybraneX Technologies and Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., a leading IT consulting firm specializing in Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence, and Blockchain.
The lab was officially inaugurated by Dr. Ashwin Saxena, Founder & CEO of CybraneX, along with Principal Dr. Bhavesh Patel and HoD Dr. Vidyulata Devmane.

“The Quantum Awareness Seminar” July 2025

The Quantum Awareness Seminar, held on Saturday, 19th July 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, was a successful initiative by the Centre of Excellence
in Quantum Technologies at Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College, in collaboration with CybraneX and the IEI – SAKEC Students’ Chapter.
Conducted via Microsoft Teams. The seminar was open to students across all departments and academic years. The session witnessed active participation and enthusiasm from students, eager to explore the frontiers of quantum technology and its real-world implications.

Internship/Skill Development Program on “Data Science with Power BI”- June 2025

 

IEI in collaboration with the ECS Department offered a 10 days internship / skill development  program on “Data Science with Power BI” from June 16th to June  26th , 2025 at Lab 103 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Prof. Deepika Patil and Prof. Keerthana T were the speakers for this event.

The internship was designed for staff and students, to impart both theoretical understanding and practical exposure, in the domains of Python programmingMachine Learning, and Business Intelligence using Power BI. Each day was structured with a detailed agenda progressing from foundational Python to hands-on project implementation.

Event Overview

 

The inauguration of the SAKEC IDEA Lab commenced with the arrival and reception of esteemed guests. A welcome lunch was arranged to ensure a warm and cordial experience for all dignitaries.

The event officially began with the unveiling of the IDEA Lab and its advanced equipment, marking the beginning of a new era in innovation at SAKEC.      

Following this, the inaugural function began with a warm welcome address, setting the tone for the event. The traditional Saraswati Vandana and ceremonial lighting of the lamp added a spiritual and cultural essence to the program.

                                 

The dignitaries, including the Chief Guest, Trustee, School Principal, and Faculty Coordinators, jointly inaugurated the IDEA Lab Brochure, Timetable, Website, and Conference Brochure. This symbolized the formal launch and multifaceted offerings of the lab.

 

The inaugural addresses began with the principal’s insightful speech highlighting the vision behind the lab. This was followed by addresses from the invited industry experts and special guests, who emphasized the importance of hands-on innovation and collaboration between academia and industry.

                                        

Chief Guest Dr. Prashant Kharat delivered a keynote address focusing on the role of institutional support in nurturing innovation. Trustee and Hon. Secretary Shri Piyush Vasanji Shah also shared his visionary thoughts, applauding the students and faculty for their efforts.

A felicitation ceremony was conducted to honour the students who showcased their projects in the exhibition. Their creativity and execution were acknowledged with appreciation.

To encapsulate the journey and milestones of the IDEA Lab, a video presentation was showcased, highlighting past activities, workshops, and student achievements.

The event concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks by Dr. Namrata Manglani, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, contributors, and attendees who played a role in making the event a grand success.

      

Finally, attendees were invited to the Project Exhibition in the IDEA Lab, where students demonstrated their innovative projects. The exhibition highlighted the practical capabilities and creativity fostered by the IDEA Lab, leaving a lasting impression on all visitors.

 

Path2Place: Skills. Strategy. Success.

Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College’s student chapter CSI-SAKEC, in collaboration with the Computer Engineering Department and SAKEC-IIC 7.0, successfully organized the intercollegiate event “Path2Place: Skills. Strategy. Success” on July 29, 2025.

Mr. Saurab Dahivadkar delivered a highly engaging session focused on the roadmap from skill development to successful placements. Students gained valuable strategies for internship preparation, building industry-ready resumes, and creating impactful project portfolios. The session offered practical tools and clear direction to help students take confident steps toward their professional goals. Here’s to transforming skills into success!

Held at Shah & Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College on 9th July 2025, this event brought together innovation, simulation, and hands-on engineering excellence.

With over 60 participants from various years and departments, the workshop featured expert-led sessions by Ms. Kasturi PatilMr. Viki Kohad, and Mr. Manjunath Kundur from ARK Infosolutions. Students explored Multiphysics Simulation, HF Tools, ACT Extension, Antenna Design, and more.
