Event: Workshop on Universal Acceptance and Multilingual Internet
Event Description:
The majority of the un-connected population is not familiar with the English language. Universal acceptance is a basic prerequisite and fundamental requirement for a truly multilingual Internet, where users worldwide can navigate entirely in their own language. Addressing the issues of universal adoption is critical to the success of the Indian government’s Digital India program. To achieve universal acceptance, Internet applications and systems must treat all TLDs, including new gTLDs and internationalized TLDs, consistently. Specifically, they must accept, validate, store, process, and display all domain names.
CyberPeace has always been engaged towards the aim of spreading awareness regarding the various developments, avenues, opportunities and threats regarding cyberspace. The same has been the keen principle of the CyberPeace Centre of Excellence set up in collaboration with various esteemed educational institutes. We at CyberPeace would like to take the collaborations and our efforts to a new height of knowledge and awareness by proposing a workshop on UNIVERSAL ACCEPTANCE AND MULTILINGUAL INTERNET. This workshop will be instrumental in providing the academia and research community a wholesome outlook towards the multilingual spectrum of the internet including Internationalized domain names and email address Internationalization.
