Cyber Security Department – SAKEC
The Cyber Security Department at Shah and Anchor Kutchhi Engineering College (SAKEC), established in 2020 with an initial intake of 60 students, is committed to developing skilled professionals capable of securing the digital future. Under the leadership of Dr. Nilakshi Jain, I/c Head of Department, the department emphasizes a forward-looking approach to cybersecurity education.
In today’s rapidly evolving techno-driven society, education and knowledge are the strongest pillars of national progress. Recognizing this, SAKEC has taken a proactive step in nurturing talent that can safeguard digital ecosystems and contribute meaningfully to society.
Cyber security is a critical domain focused on protecting systems, networks, organizations, and individuals from digital threats such as unauthorized access, malware, phishing, spyware, and other evolving cyber-attacks. As digital transformation accelerates, cybersecurity has become an indispensable component of the modern world.
The department offers a comprehensive learning experience that integrates both software and hardware security perspectives, enabling students to design, build, and maintain secure systems. With a strong foundation in Digital Forensics, Cyber Security, and Artificial Intelligence, the program prepares students to address real-world challenges and emerging threats.
Aligned with India’s vision of building a secure, resilient, and trusted digital ecosystem, the department contributes to the national goal of establishing a “Cyber Secure Bharat”. This vision includes advancements in AI-driven security, promotion of indigenous technologies for data sovereignty, and the development of a highly skilled cybersecurity workforce.
Further, the department actively resonates with Maharashtra’s Cybersecurity Vision 2047, which aims to transform the state into a globally leading secure digital economy.
Through academic excellence, industry collaboration, and research-driven learning, the Cyber Security Department at SAKEC strives to produce ethical, innovative, and future-ready cyber defenders.
